How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Demand Generation Manager
Quantify your pipeline contribution immediately
Sponsors need confidence you'll clear the H-1B specialty occupation bar. Document your MQL-to-SQL conversion rates, attributed revenue, and campaign ROI from day one. Hard numbers make the business case for sponsorship far stronger than job title alone.
Raise sponsorship in the second or third interview
Bring up OPT status after the hiring manager understands your value, not in the first screen. By the time they're invested in you, the sponsorship conversation becomes a logistics question rather than a dealbreaker that ends the process early.
Focus on companies with existing H-1B filing history
Employers who have sponsored before understand the process and budget for it. Prioritize companies with a documented track record of H-1B filings in marketing or operations roles, which signals genuine willingness rather than theoretical openness to sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for OPT-friendly employers
Migrate Mate surfaces Demand Generation Manager roles at companies that actively hire on OPT. Filtering by sponsorship history saves time and focuses your energy on employers who already have the infrastructure and intent to support your work authorization.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can I work as a Demand Generation Manager on OPT?
Yes, as long as the role is directly related to your field of study. Demand Generation Manager positions typically qualify for students with degrees in marketing, business, communications, or data-related STEM fields. Your employer doesn't need to file any petition during your OPT period, but your work must remain in your degree field to stay compliant.
Does a Demand Generation Manager role qualify for STEM OPT extension?
It depends on your degree, not the job title. If your bachelor's or master's degree is in a STEM-designated field like information systems, statistics, or computer science, you may qualify for the 24-month extension even in a marketing role. The classification hinges on your academic program, so confirm your degree's CIP code with your DSO before applying.
How do I find Demand Generation Manager jobs that sponsor OPT students?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this. It aggregates Demand Generation Manager roles at companies with a documented history of hiring international students and sponsoring H-1B visas. Filtering by sponsorship criteria cuts out the guesswork and lets you focus on employers who have already committed budget and process to support OPT hires.
Will employers consider me for a Demand Generation Manager role if my OPT expires in less than a year?
Some will, particularly larger companies that run H-1B petitions annually and have dedicated immigration counsel. The stronger your pipeline metrics and the clearer your STEM extension eligibility, the more manageable the timeline looks to a hiring manager. Being transparent about your OPT end date and the H-1B filing calendar helps employers plan rather than panic.
Is Demand Generation Manager considered a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Generally yes, when the role requires applying data analytics, marketing technology platforms, or revenue operations methodology at a level that normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles involving campaign attribution modeling, CRM architecture, or multi-channel funnel analysis tend to pass specialty occupation scrutiny more cleanly than generalist marketing coordinator positions.
