About Campus
Campus is on a mission to accelerate the talent of tomorrow and reimagine what college can (and should) be. The problem is clear: college costs have skyrocketed, but outcomes haven’t. Traditional college hasn’t kept up with the aspirations of today’s students—and they can’t afford to wait.
At Campus, we’ve built a two-year, accredited college where students learn from top professors at universities like Princeton, Stanford, and Howard, in live, online classes. Our students graduate with in-demand business and AI skills—ready to launch their careers or transfer to top four-year universities. Our unique approach is grounded in a pioneering technology platform and a heavily-researched student success model that offers students dedicated advisors and on-demand tutoring and coaching. We were also named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2024.
We’re backed by an exceptional investor team that believes deeply in our vision for the future of education, including General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Bloomberg Beta, 8VC, Rethink Education, Sam Altman, Jason Citron, Shaquille O’Neal, and others.
The world has changed. Higher ed needs to catch up, and we’re leading the way - come join us!

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Student Success Coach
Target employers familiar with OPT
Universities, community colleges, and edtech companies regularly hire on OPT for student-facing roles. These employers already understand work authorization timelines, making the conversation about your status straightforward from the start.
Connect your degree directly to the role
OPT requires your job to be directly related to your field of study. A degree in education, psychology, counseling, or social work maps cleanly to Student Success Coach responsibilities. Be ready to articulate that connection clearly in your application.
Highlight student-facing experience prominently
Tutoring, academic advising, peer mentoring, or teaching assistant roles signal direct readiness for this position. Employers hiring on OPT want low onboarding risk, so demonstrable experience with students reduces hesitation about your visa situation.
Clarify your OPT timeline upfront
Knowing exactly how many months remain on your OPT, and whether STEM extension applies, helps employers plan. Come to interviews prepared with your authorization end date and a clear explanation of your next steps toward longer-term work authorization.
Pursue institutions with H-1B sponsorship history
Some colleges and nonprofits sponsor H-1B or O-1 visas for Student Success Coaches, especially when the role requires a specialized degree. Research an employer's sponsorship track record before applying so you're not surprised after an offer is extended.

Does a Student Success Coach role qualify for F-1 OPT work authorization?
Yes, provided your degree field is directly related to the role. Student Success Coach positions typically require backgrounds in education, counseling, psychology, or social work, all of which satisfy OPT's requirement that employment be in your field of study. If your degree is in a different discipline, document the connection carefully before accepting an offer.
Can I work as a Student Success Coach on STEM OPT extension?
STEM OPT applies only to degrees in qualifying science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields. Most Student Success Coach roles are staffed by graduates in education or social sciences, which are not STEM-designated fields. If your undergraduate or graduate degree is in a STEM discipline and the role genuinely relates to it, check with your DSO to confirm eligibility before applying.
Where can I find Student Success Coach jobs that are open to OPT candidates?
Migrate Mate lists Student Success Coach positions from employers who are open to hiring F-1 OPT students. Filtering by authorization type saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process. Roles in higher education administration and edtech companies appear most frequently on Migrate Mate for this job title.
Do Student Success Coach employers typically sponsor H-1B visas after OPT ends?
It varies by employer type. Large universities and multi-campus college systems are more likely to have H-1B sponsorship infrastructure than smaller private institutions. Edtech companies with dedicated HR teams also sponsor more frequently. Nonprofit and community college employers sometimes sponsor but often lack the internal process to do so quickly, so it's worth asking directly during the offer stage.
What happens to my Student Success Coach job if my OPT expires before my H-1B petition is approved?
If your employer files an H-1B petition on your behalf before your OPT expires, CAP-GAP protection extends your F-1 status and work authorization through September 30 of that fiscal year, or until a decision is reached on the petition. You can continue working in your Student Success Coach role during this period without interruption, as long as the petition remains pending or approved.
