Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B1 visas in Colorado?
Charles Schwab, which relocated its headquarters to Westlake, Texas, but maintains a significant Denver presence, has filed H-1B1 labor condition applications, as have firms like Vanguard and Fidelity Investments operating in Colorado. Smaller registered investment advisers and hedge funds in the Denver metro have also sponsored H-1B1 workers for specialized analytical roles, though sponsorship practices vary by firm and role.
Which cities in Colorado have the most investment management H-1B1 sponsorship jobs?
Denver concentrates the majority of Colorado's investment management H-1B1 sponsorship activity, with the Cherry Creek and downtown financial corridors housing wealth management firms, asset managers, and institutional investors. Boulder attracts quantitative finance and fintech-adjacent roles. Colorado Springs has a smaller but active financial services presence. Denver's density of registered investment advisers and fund managers makes it the primary target for H-1B1 job seekers in this industry.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B1 sponsorship?
Roles that commonly qualify include financial analyst, portfolio analyst, quantitative analyst, risk analyst, investment research associate, and compliance analyst positions that require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a closely related field. The H-1B1 specialty occupation standard requires the degree to be directly relevant to the role. General relationship manager or sales-focused positions without a specific degree requirement are less likely to qualify.
How do I find investment management H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, allowing you to filter investment management roles in Colorado that are open to H-1B1 sponsorship. Because H-1B1 is available only to Chilean and Singaporean nationals and is less commonly understood by employers than the H-1B, Migrate Mate helps identify firms already familiar with the visa category, reducing the time spent educating hiring managers from scratch.
Are there any Colorado-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 sponsorship in investment management?
Colorado has no state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B1 rules, but investment management firms in the state are subject to SEC or FINRA oversight, which can affect hiring timelines if background checks and licensing requirements run concurrently with visa processing. The H-1B1 does not require an I-129 petition for initial entry (consular processing applies), but Colorado employers must still file a certified Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before you begin work.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 investment management jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
