Job Purpose:
This role will serve to work with the Senior Tax Manager to manage federal and state income and operating tax audits, coordinate and develop planning strategies for the DPWN US tax group, and develop and maintain the use of technology within the tax department.
Your Tasks:
Audit and Planning:
- Understand business transactions to determine tax consequence or opportunities.
- Control tax audit process and act as a liaison between the IRS and state income tax authorities, tax department and the business partners to gather information needed for audits.
- Work with the tax compliance group to determine tax risks and exposure.
- Document tax technical positions for the US operating companies.
- Support Tax Managers and Directors.
- Assist accounts payable with foreign vendor FATCA compliance and respond to inquiries in an effort to mitigate withholding risk.
- Work with business unit accounts payable to coordinate international tax reporting including related party transaction reporting and foreign vendor US withholding tax compliance.
- Perform internal control assessment and document evidence.
Tax Technology:
- Identify tax technology needs, including opportunities for process improvements, automation, efficiency gains, and application of tax process and technology best practices via the use of existing technology and the implementation of new technology.
- Lead the design and development of tools and solutions working with necessary stakeholders to deliver analysis that fits the needs.
- Create Key Performance Indicators / Dashboards to measure results of predictive models and datasets with appropriate visualization for structured and unstructured data big data.
- Serve as a liaison between the Tax, Accounting and Information Technology departments improving the understanding of the tax department’s information technology needs.
- Perform maintenance duties including modifying process, logging tickets, coordinating the testing and installation of system upgrades and patch fixes.
- Develop and deliver end user training and maintain documentation of all tax technology.
- Proactively identify and facilitate determination of necessary process and technology modifications resulting from acquisitions, significant transactions, tax law changes.
- Identify, plan for, and direct all tax data management and warehousing needs, including record retention.
Your Profile:
- 3-5 years corporate income tax experience
- Public Accounting background
- Degree in Information Systems or in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- CPA; Master of Taxation
- Excellent communication and business writing skills
- Excellent issue identification and research skills
- A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Exhibit the ability to work well with others
- Works well under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently
