Which consumer goods companies in Indiana sponsor H-1B1 visas?
Indiana's largest consumer goods employers with documented sponsorship histories include Eli Lilly, Corteva Agriscience, Cummins, and Cook Medical. Food and beverage manufacturers in the state, including operations tied to national brands, have also filed H-1B1 petitions for specialty roles. Sponsorship is not universal across all employers, so confirming a company's prior petition history before applying is advisable.
Which cities in Indiana have the most consumer goods H-1B1 sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of consumer goods H-1B1 positions in Indiana, driven by its concentration of pharmaceutical and agribusiness headquarters. Fort Wayne and Lafayette also have meaningful consumer goods manufacturing and R&D activity. Columbus, home to Cummins' global headquarters, is another city where specialty occupation sponsorship in product-related roles is more common.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for H-1B1 sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B1 criteria typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly relevant to the position. In Indiana's consumer goods sector, this commonly includes regulatory affairs specialists, food scientists, chemical engineers, quality assurance engineers, and supply chain analysts with technical or quantitative degree requirements. Generalist management roles without a specific degree requirement generally do not qualify.
How do I find consumer goods H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface visa sponsorship jobs, including H-1B1 positions in Indiana's consumer goods industry. Rather than filtering through general job boards, Migrate Mate lets you search by visa type and industry so you can focus on employers already open to H-1B1 candidates. Reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data alongside Migrate Mate listings can also help you verify which Indiana employers have sponsored H-1B1 workers in the past.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 sponsorship in Indiana's consumer goods sector?
Indiana does not impose state-level immigration requirements beyond federal H-1B1 rules, but the consumer goods industry here has some practical considerations. Many roles sit within manufacturing or regulated industries like pharmaceuticals and agriculture, where employers are accustomed to navigating federal compliance and are generally more familiar with visa sponsorship processes. Seasonal hiring cycles in food processing and agricultural chemicals can affect when sponsorship-eligible openings are posted.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 consumer goods jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
