The Quality Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting the rollout and expansion of an electronic device history record (eDHR) in Memphis, TN.
What will you be doing?
- Interpreting GD&T and translating blueprints and procedures into tabulated data formats for use within the Tulip eDHR application suite.
- Drafting supplementary Work Instructions, procedures, and other design documentation.
- Capturing videos and images of inspection and manufacturing processes to adapt paper-based Work Instructions into the eDHR suite.
- Assisting in process development and improvement as the eDHR suite of applications is expanded to additional product lines and processes.
- Assisting in Tulip application design and development for new apps and iterative improvement of existing apps.
- Training end-users on Tulip application use.
Planned Start Date: May 2026
Program Length: 12 weeks
Location: Memphis, TN
What will you need to be successful?
Education:
- Associate degree or higher level of post-secondary education in an engineering or technical discipline (Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering)
Experience:
- Experience in a related field or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Competencies:
- Experience in software development or programming preferred. Prior experience with Tulip and Jira strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP), good documentation practices (GDP), and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Effective technical writing skills and experience working within various software systems (Word, Excel, e.g.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs., sit for extended periods of time at a desk or computer keyboard, or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to comply with all Safety Policies and Procedures as applicable to work area, including mandated personal protection equipment (PPE). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may temporarily:
- Work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and equipment vibration.
- Work within an environment in which noise levels mandate the use of hearing protection.
