Which technology companies sponsor H-1B1 visas in Georgia?
Georgia's largest technology employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history include NCR Voyix, Global Payments, Fiserv, Cox Enterprises, and Delta Air Lines' technology division. Consulting and services firms such as Infosys, Cognizant, and Wipro also maintain large Georgia offices and regularly sponsor specialty occupation roles. Because H-1B1 is a subset of the H-1B classification, employers who file H-1B petitions generally have the infrastructure to sponsor H-1B1 workers as well.
Which cities in Georgia have the most technology H-1B1 sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the majority of technology sponsorship activity in Georgia, particularly in the Midtown and Buckhead corridors where fintech and enterprise software firms are concentrated. Alpharetta, often called the 'Technology City of the South,' hosts dozens of mid-size and enterprise tech companies. Duluth and Norcross in Gwinnett County also have notable tech employer density, particularly in IT services and managed services firms.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B1 sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify as specialty occupations under the H-1B1 category include software engineers, data scientists, cloud architects, cybersecurity analysts, DevOps engineers, systems analysts, and database administrators. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field directly related to the duties. Generalist roles where any degree field is acceptable, or where the degree is listed as preferred rather than required, are less likely to qualify.
How do I find technology H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, including H-1B1, and by state to surface technology roles in Georgia where employers have active sponsorship history. Because H-1B1 sponsorship is less commonly advertised explicitly than H-1B, using a platform that cross-references visa filing data is more reliable than scanning general job postings. Migrate Mate surfaces employers in Georgia's tech sector who have demonstrated willingness to sponsor international workers.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for H-1B1 technology sponsorship?
Georgia does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B1 employment, but the concentration of fintech and payment processing firms in Atlanta means many roles involve access to regulated financial systems, which can extend onboarding timelines while background checks are completed. Georgia's technology sector also includes a high proportion of IT consulting and staffing firms, where H-1B1 workers should confirm that the end-client relationship and worksite details are clearly reflected in the Labor Condition Application before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 technology jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
