Which insurance companies sponsor E-3 visas in Missouri?
Several large insurers with Missouri operations have filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty roles, including Shelter Insurance Group headquartered in Columbia, Kansas City Life Insurance, and major national carriers like Cerner (now Oracle Health) with health insurance analytics teams in Kansas City. Global firms such as Cigna, Aetna, and Centene Corporation, which has its headquarters in St. Louis, have also sponsored specialty occupation workers in insurance-adjacent roles.
Which cities in Missouri have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Kansas City and St. Louis account for the largest share of insurance E-3 opportunities in Missouri. Kansas City hosts a concentration of health insurance, benefits administration, and financial services employers. St. Louis is home to Centene Corporation, a Fortune 500 managed care company, along with regional insurers and brokerage firms. Columbia, where Shelter Insurance is headquartered, is a smaller but notable market for insurance professionals.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the position. In insurance, this typically includes actuaries, underwriters, risk analysts, data scientists supporting insurance products, compliance officers, and financial analysts. General claims adjusting or administrative roles that accept any degree are less likely to qualify, as the degree-to-job field connection must be specific.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Missouri, as the platform filters specifically for E-3-eligible roles and visa-sponsoring employers. Search for insurance job titles such as actuary, underwriter, or risk analyst with Missouri as the location. Targeting employers with a demonstrated history of LCA filings in the insurance sector, which is verifiable through Department of Labor disclosure data, improves your chances of finding genuinely sponsorship-ready positions.
Are there any Missouri-specific considerations for E-3 insurance sponsorship?
Missouri does not impose state-level licensing requirements on E-3 visa holders that differ from those applied to any other worker, but insurance professionals in regulated roles such as adjusters or agents must still obtain Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance licensure. For actuarial roles, credentialing through the Society of Actuaries is employer-driven rather than state-mandated. Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 specialty occupation purposes, which matters when employers assess your credentials.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
