Which technology companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems, Oracle, and Liberty Mutual (with operations in the Manchester area) have a history of hiring international students in technical roles. Defense contractors and cybersecurity firms along the southern corridor also regularly bring on F-1 CPT students for software engineering and systems analysis internships. Sponsorship availability varies by semester, team budget, and whether the role meets the curricular relevance requirement your university requires.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most technology F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the majority of technology hiring in New Hampshire. Manchester is home to a concentration of financial technology, defense tech, and software companies, while Nashua hosts hardware and semiconductor-adjacent firms. Concord has a smaller but active technology employer base, particularly in government-facing IT roles. Students at UNH Durham benefit from proximity to the Portsmouth area, where defense and cybersecurity employers operate.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Software engineering internships, data analyst roles, IT support positions, cybersecurity analyst internships, and systems integration roles are the most common F-1 CPT placements in New Hampshire's technology sector. The key requirement is that the role must be directly tied to your major and approved by your Designated School Official. Roles with a clear connection to computer science, information systems, or engineering degree programs are the strongest candidates for CPT authorization.
How do I find technology F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters technology roles in New Hampshire by visa type, including F-1 CPT. Rather than sorting through general job boards that don't surface sponsorship details, Migrate Mate lets you search directly for employers who have sponsored F-1 CPT students in technology fields in the state. This saves time and focuses your search on companies already familiar with the CPT authorization process.
Are there any New Hampshire-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in technology?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects your take-home pay calculations but has no bearing on CPT eligibility itself. Because the state's technology sector has strong ties to federal defense contracts, some roles may require security clearances or U.S. citizenship, making them unavailable to F-1 students. Always confirm clearance requirements before applying. Additionally, some smaller New Hampshire employers may be less familiar with CPT paperwork, so come prepared with your university's CPT authorization letter and a brief explanation of the process.
