Which agriculture companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in New Jersey?
New Jersey agribusinesses that have historically engaged CPT students include greenhouse and nursery operations in Burlington and Atlantic counties, food processing and quality assurance firms in the central part of the state, and agricultural research organizations affiliated with Rutgers. Campbell Soup's research and development operations and several specialty crop producers have also brought on CPT-authorized interns. Sponsorship availability changes each cycle, so confirming CPT eligibility directly with the employer and your DSO is essential.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most agriculture F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Bridgeton and Vineland in Cumberland County are centers for vegetable and poultry production and tend to have the most field-level agricultural roles. Bordentown and Moorestown in Burlington County see activity in greenhouse and specialty crop operations. New Brunswick, home to Rutgers, connects students to research-oriented CPT placements. Camden-area food manufacturers also offer food science and supply chain CPT opportunities for agriculture-adjacent roles.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that connect directly to a student's academic program field of study are most likely to qualify. For agriculture students, this commonly includes crop research assistant, soil science technician, agricultural data analyst, food safety and quality control intern, supply chain coordinator, and agronomy intern positions. General farm labor roles that lack a clear tie to a degree program are unlikely to meet CPT's direct relation requirement. Your DSO makes the final determination on eligibility.
How do I find agriculture F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 CPT, and by industry, so you can search agriculture roles in New Jersey without sorting through listings that don't accommodate your status. Beyond Migrate Mate, your university's career services office and the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences co-op program are strong starting points, as they maintain relationships with New Jersey employers already familiar with CPT authorization requirements.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in New Jersey agriculture?
New Jersey's Right to Farm Act and its concentration of specialty crops mean many agricultural employers operate on seasonal cycles, which affects CPT authorization timing. Part-time CPT (under 20 hours per week) preserves your full-time enrollment status, while full-time CPT (20 or more hours) counts toward the 12-month threshold that affects OPT eligibility. Agriculture internships at New Jersey operations must still be pre-authorized by your DSO and cannot begin before the authorization start date on your I-20.
