Which marketing and advertising companies sponsor TN visas in New York?
New York's advertising industry is anchored by the major holding companies, including WPP, Publicis Groupe, Interpublic Group, and Omnicom, all of which maintain large offices in Manhattan and have sponsored TN visas for qualifying roles. Global brands with New York headquarters, such as Estee Lauder, Pfizer, and Verizon, also maintain sizable in-house marketing teams that have sponsored Canadian and Mexican nationals under TN status.
Which cities in New York have the most marketing and advertising TN sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan's Midtown and Hudson Yards corridors, accounts for the overwhelming majority of marketing and advertising TN sponsorship opportunities in the state. A smaller but active market exists in Brooklyn, where agencies and direct-to-consumer brands have expanded. Albany and Buffalo have limited advertising agency presence but may offer in-house marketing roles at regional corporations, healthcare systems, and universities.
What types of marketing and advertising roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN sponsorship in marketing and advertising generally applies to roles that require a specific bachelor's degree and fall within a recognized TN occupation category, most commonly Management Consultant or Graphic Designer depending on the position. Market Research Analyst roles can also qualify. Positions in brand strategy, media planning, marketing analytics, and digital marketing may qualify when tied to a directly relevant degree field. Generalist marketing coordinator roles with no degree requirement typically do not qualify.
How do I find marketing & advertising TN sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface marketing and advertising roles in New York where employers are open to TN sponsorship. Because TN eligibility depends on both the job title and your degree, reviewing listings on Migrate Mate alongside the specific role requirements helps you identify opportunities that fit your credentials before you reach out to employers.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in marketing and advertising?
New York's competitive hiring market means many agencies assume candidates already have work authorization, so proactively clarifying TN eligibility early in the process is important. New York state also has strong union activity in media and broadcasting, and unionized roles may have separate classification considerations. Canadian nationals can present TN documentation directly at a port of entry, while Mexican nationals require consular processing, which adds lead time when planning a start date with a New York employer.
