Which medical devices companies sponsor H-1B visas in Oklahoma?
Medtronic and Teleflex have operations in Oklahoma with documented H-1B sponsorship histories in medical devices. Regional device manufacturers and contract manufacturers serving the orthopedic and cardiovascular segments also file H-1B petitions for engineering and regulatory roles. Sponsorship activity is not uniform across employers, so reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data is the most reliable way to verify which specific companies have filed recently.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City accounts for the majority of medical devices H-1B sponsorship activity in the state, given its concentration of healthcare systems, device distributors, and manufacturing facilities. Tulsa is the secondary hub, with a stronger presence in industrial and engineering sectors that overlap with medical device manufacturing. Smaller metros like Norman and Edmond have limited but growing medical technology activity tied to university research partnerships.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, generally requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field directly related to the position. In Oklahoma's medical devices sector, this commonly includes biomedical engineers, quality assurance engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, clinical application specialists, and manufacturing process engineers. General technician or sales support roles without a specific degree requirement typically do not qualify for H-1B classification.
How do I find medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (H-1B), industry (medical devices), and state (Oklahoma) to see active listings from employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness. This saves considerable time compared to manually reviewing general job postings. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize applications toward companies that have filed H-1B petitions in the medical devices sector before.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Oklahoma's medical devices sector?
Oklahoma does not impose state-level visa restrictions, so H-1B sponsorship follows standard federal USCIS requirements. However, medical device roles often intersect with FDA regulatory frameworks, meaning employers may require candidates to have experience with 21 CFR Part 820 or ISO 13485 quality systems. Employers in Oklahoma's manufacturing-oriented device sector may also prioritize candidates with hands-on production or validation experience alongside their academic credentials, which can affect how a petition is constructed.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B medical devices jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
