Which sports companies in Oregon sponsor TN visas?
Nike, headquartered in Beaverton, is Oregon's largest sports employer and has an established history of sponsoring international workers, including TN visa holders in roles like sports science research, biomechanics, and product development. The Portland Trail Blazers and Providence Park's operational teams have also sponsored TN positions. Smaller outdoor and fitness brands based in Portland, such as those in the athletic apparel and equipment sector, sponsor TN roles when the position aligns with a qualifying occupation.
Which cities in Oregon have the most sports TN sponsorship jobs?
Portland and its western suburbs, particularly Beaverton, account for the majority of sports TN sponsorship jobs in Oregon. Nike's Beaverton campus alone employs thousands in sports-adjacent professional roles. Portland proper hosts the Trail Blazers organization, MLS club Portland Timbers, and a growing network of fitness and wellness companies. Eugene, home to the University of Oregon and its storied track and field program, offers opportunities in collegiate athletics administration and sports medicine.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN sponsorship is available for occupations on the approved USMCA list, so not every sports job qualifies. Roles that commonly align include scientific positions in sports science or exercise physiology, physical therapists and athletic trainers with the appropriate licensure, dietitians and nutritionists, engineers working in sports equipment R&D, and management consultants in sports operations. Coaching and non-degree general athletics staff positions generally do not qualify, as TN requires a direct match between the role and an approved occupation category.
How do I find sports TN sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN-eligible professionals searching for visa-sponsored roles, including sports jobs in Oregon. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface positions at Oregon employers actively open to TN candidates. Because TN sponsorship is handled at the border or consulate rather than through USCIS petition, many Oregon employers are more receptive to it than to other work visa types, making targeted search tools like Migrate Mate especially useful for identifying those openings.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in the sports industry?
Oregon does not impose state-level restrictions on TN visa employment, but the concentration of the sports industry in the Portland metro area means most opportunities require on-site presence at employer campuses like Nike's headquarters. Athletic trainer and physical therapist roles require Oregon state licensure independent of TN status, so candidates should confirm their credentials meet Oregon Board of Examiners standards before pursuing those positions. The University of Oregon and Oregon State University also sponsor TN roles in collegiate sports medicine and exercise science departments.
