Tips for Finding TN Sponsorship Jobs in Oregon
Target Hillsboro's semiconductor cluster
Hillsboro hosts a dense concentration of semiconductor and hardware companies, including major chip manufacturers. Engineers and scientists in electrical, materials, and computer disciplines find some of Oregon's highest TN sponsorship activity concentrated in this corridor.
Look beyond Portland for less competition
Eugene, Corvallis, and Bend have growing tech and biotech employer bases with fewer international applicants than Portland. Smaller metros often move faster through hiring and are more open to walking through TN documentation for the first time.
Use Migrate Mate to filter by TN-eligible roles
Migrate Mate lets you search Oregon job listings filtered specifically for TN visa sponsorship, saving time you'd otherwise spend screening out employers unfamiliar with the visa category. Filter by industry to match your USMCA occupation list.
Lead with USMCA occupation category in applications
Oregon employers, especially outside Portland, are not always familiar with TN visas. Naming your exact qualifying occupation from the USMCA list in your cover letter or introductory email reduces employer hesitation and shortens the education process significantly.
Research Oregon Health & Science University and university employers
OHSU, Oregon State University, and University of Oregon regularly hire scientific, engineering, and technical professionals under TN status. Academic and research institutions have established immigration processes and are generally experienced with nonimmigrant work authorization.
Check employer TN history through Department of Labor disclosures
DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data shows which Oregon employers have previously filed for TN professionals. Searching by employer name confirms sponsorship experience before you invest time in an application, giving you a practical filter alongside Migrate Mate listings.

Which industries in Oregon sponsor the most TN visas?
Technology and semiconductor manufacturing lead TN visa sponsorship activity in Oregon, concentrated heavily in the Portland-Hillsboro metro. Healthcare, particularly through hospital networks and research institutions, represents the second largest category. Engineering, scientific research, and software development roles across these sectors account for the majority of TN filings in the state.
Which cities in Oregon have the most TN sponsorship jobs?
Portland and Hillsboro together form Oregon's primary TN job market, driven by large tech employers and Intel's major campus in Washington County. Eugene and Corvallis offer secondary markets through university-affiliated research and growing biotech presence. Bend has seen increasing tech hiring in recent years, particularly in software and engineering.
What types of roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that qualify must correspond to an occupation listed in the USMCA TN category. In Oregon's job market, this commonly includes software engineers, electrical engineers, computer systems analysts, scientists in biology and chemistry, accountants, and registered nurses. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
How do I find TN sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter Oregon job listings by TN visa sponsorship so you're not sifting through roles where employers won't support the visa. You can also cross-reference DOL LCA disclosure data to verify which Oregon employers have previously filed for TN workers, which is a strong signal of sponsorship willingness.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations I should know about for TN sponsorship?
Oregon has no state-level immigration requirements that differ from federal TN rules. However, roles in Oregon's healthcare sector may require state licensing before or shortly after starting work, and that licensing timeline should be factored into your start date planning. For roles with the Oregon Health Authority or state-run institutions, procurement and HR processes can move more slowly than private employers.
