Which healthcare companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Utah?
University of Utah Health and Intermountain Health are the two largest healthcare employers in Utah and have established histories of hosting international students through CPT arrangements. Smaller employers such as HCA Healthcare's Utah facilities, SelectHealth, and various clinical research organizations affiliated with University of Utah also participate. CPT eligibility depends on your school's curricular requirements, not solely on employer willingness, so confirm both sides before accepting an offer.
Which cities in Utah have the most healthcare F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the majority of healthcare CPT opportunities in Utah, driven by the University of Utah's academic medical center and Intermountain Health's flagship hospitals. Provo and Orem see activity through BYU's health sciences programs and nearby clinical facilities. Ogden has a smaller but present healthcare employment base through McKay-Dee Hospital, part of the Intermountain system. Remote roles in health informatics can also be based anywhere in the state.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Healthcare roles that qualify for CPT must relate directly to your degree program. Common qualifying positions in Utah include clinical research coordinator, health data analyst, public health intern, health informatics specialist, and biomedical research assistant. Hands-on clinical roles such as direct patient care typically require separate state licensure and may face additional constraints. Your DSO determines whether a specific position satisfies the curricular component required for CPT authorization.
How do I find healthcare F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students seeking CPT-eligible positions and filters healthcare jobs in Utah by visa type, so you're not sorting through listings that don't apply to your situation. Beyond using Migrate Mate, check your university's career services office since schools like University of Utah and BYU often maintain direct employer relationships with local health systems. Contact your DSO early to confirm which roles satisfy your program's CPT requirements before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in Utah's healthcare industry?
Utah's healthcare sector is heavily influenced by Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health, both of which operate large academic and research divisions familiar with international student hiring. Utah does not impose state-level restrictions on CPT beyond federal DSO authorization requirements. However, healthcare roles requiring state licensure, such as nursing or pharmacy, involve separate credentialing timelines that can affect CPT start dates. International students should coordinate licensure applications with their academic schedule well in advance.
