PURPOSE OF POSITION: Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for providing an exceptional experience for children ages 2 months to 12 years in Deer Valley’s Summer Adventure Camp. Children ages 2 months – 2 years remain on property, while ages 3 – 12 engage in off-property activities. Counselors create a safe, fun, and engaging environment, while being a team player in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead groups of 3 to 8 children, depending on age.
• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities, such as swimming/water play, hiking and nature walks, biking, chairlift rides, off-site field trips, cooking, and art projects
• Ensure children’s basic needs are met, including meals, bathroom breaks, rest, safety, and social-emotional well-being
• Adhere to childcare licensing standards
• Work collaboratively with fellow counselors and staff
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Follow through on assigned projects

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years or older to apply.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience organizing children’s activities or events.
• Ability to be active outdoors in a mountain environment for long periods.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Able to lift at least 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks, such as standing, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
• Must obtain electronic fingerprint clearance (childcare background screening)
