Box Office Agent / Customer Service Representative
Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Payrate: $17.25
Union Status: Position is covered under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Position Summary
The Box Office Ticketing Agent provides excellent customer service to patrons by assisting with ticket sales, exchanges, will-call distribution, and general inquiries. This role ensures a smooth and positive guest experience while upholding the policies and procedures of the theater/venue.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell tickets in person, over the phone, and online using the ticketing system.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service at all times.
- Assist patrons with ticket purchases, exchanges, refunds, and accessibility needs.
- Handle credit card transactions accurately and securely.
- Distribute will-call tickets and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and upcoming events, seating charts, pricing, and promotions.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to emails regarding ticketing and general venue information.
- Assist with group sales inquiries and special ticketing requests when needed.
- Ensure compliance with box office policies and security procedures.
- Support front-of-house operations during performances as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Prior customer service or sales experience required, box office or ticketing experience a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable handling cash and operating a point-of-sale or ticketing system.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.
