Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B1 visas in Washington?
Washington-based firms with a track record of sponsoring specialty occupation visas in investment management include Russell Investments, WaFd Bank's wealth division, and several large independent registered investment advisors headquartered in Seattle and Bellevue. Larger national asset managers with Washington offices, such as BlackRock and Vanguard's regional teams, have also filed H-1B1 and related petitions. Sponsorship willingness varies by firm size, role, and hiring cycle, so direct employer outreach is the most reliable way to confirm availability.
Which cities in Washington have the most investment management H-1B1 sponsorship jobs?
Seattle concentrates the largest share of investment management H-1B1 roles in Washington, driven by its density of asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth advisory firms. Bellevue is a secondary hub, particularly for firms serving technology-sector clients and high-net-worth individuals. Tacoma and Spokane have smaller but active markets, primarily through regional banks and community-based advisory practices. Roles requiring quantitative or research expertise tend to cluster in the Seattle metro area.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B1 sponsorship?
Roles that typically meet the specialty occupation standard for H-1B1 sponsorship include portfolio analyst, quantitative research analyst, risk analyst, compliance analyst, and investment operations specialist. These positions generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field as a standard entry requirement. Generalist roles or positions where a degree in any field is acceptable are less likely to qualify, so the job description's degree requirement is a key factor in eligibility.
How do I find investment management H-1B1 sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type and state to surface investment management roles in Washington where employers are open to H-1B1 sponsorship. Because H-1B1 is available only to Chilean and Singaporean nationals, the pool of competing applicants is smaller than for general work visas, which can improve access to firms willing to sponsor. Browsing Migrate Mate's Washington investment management listings is a practical starting point for identifying active opportunities.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for H-1B1 sponsorship in investment management?
Washington has no state income tax, which is a relevant financial context for evaluating offers but does not affect the H-1B1 petition process itself. Washington's investment management sector is closely tied to the technology industry, meaning many firms manage venture or growth-equity portfolios and may seek analysts with experience in technology-sector valuation. Employers in Washington are also subject to state-level employment regulations that can affect the Labor Condition Application process, so firms with established HR infrastructure tend to be more experienced with the sponsorship workflow.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 investment management jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
