Which education companies and institutions sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Wisconsin?
F-1 CPT sponsorship in Wisconsin education comes primarily from universities and colleges, K-12 school districts, and education-focused nonprofits. The University of Wisconsin System campuses in Madison, Milwaukee, and across the state have established processes for hosting CPT students. Larger districts like Madison Metropolitan and Milwaukee Public Schools, along with organizations like Teach For America Wisconsin, have also engaged international students through CPT arrangements.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most F-1 CPT education jobs?
Madison concentrates the highest volume of education CPT opportunities, driven by UW-Madison and surrounding edtech and nonprofit organizations. Milwaukee follows closely, with Milwaukee Public Schools, Marquette University, and several community-focused education nonprofits active in the area. Green Bay and Eau Claire offer smaller but consistent pipelines through their university campuses and regional school districts.
How do I find education F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students navigating CPT job searches, with filters for visa type, state, and industry. For Wisconsin education roles, you can search by F-1 CPT and the education industry to surface employers who have historically worked with international students. Your university's international student office and career center can also confirm which local education employers have approved CPT placements in the past.
What types of education roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that qualify for CPT must be directly related to your major field of study. In education, this commonly includes instructional design, curriculum development, educational research, teaching assistantships, program coordination, and education technology roles. Positions in school administration, academic advising, and special education support can also qualify depending on your degree program. Your Designated School Official (DSO) at your university determines final CPT eligibility for each specific role.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship in education?
Wisconsin's education sector is heavily influenced by the University of Wisconsin System, which creates a strong institutional familiarity with CPT arrangements. However, CPT authorization is managed entirely by your university, not by the Wisconsin employer. Public school districts must also comply with state teaching licensure requirements, which means CPT-eligible education roles at K-12 employers tend to be in support, research, or administrative functions rather than licensed classroom teaching positions.
