Confirm your licensure aligns with state requirements
LifeStance hires psychologists to practice independently, so your doctoral-level license must be active in the state where you'll work. Provisional or supervised licensure typically won't satisfy their clinical credentialing requirements, which directly affects sponsorship eligibility.
Target locations with persistent hiring demand
LifeStance operates across dozens of states and consistently posts openings in underserved markets. Prioritizing locations with high open role counts signals real workforce need, which strengthens the employer's justification when filing a permanent labor certification through the PERM process with DOL.
Ask HR to clarify which visa pathway they intend
LifeStance has sponsored both employment-based immigrant visas and nonimmigrant categories for psychology roles. During the offer stage, ask explicitly whether they're pursuing EB-2, EB-3, or a nonimmigrant visa so you can align your timeline and credential documentation accordingly.
Prepare your NPI registration and CAQH profile early
LifeStance credentialing teams move in parallel with HR. Having your National Provider Identifier and CAQH profile complete before an offer accelerates the internal onboarding process, which in turn prevents delays in submitting your visa petition to USCIS.
Understand TN visa limitations for psychology doctoral holders
TN status covers psychologists for Canadian and Mexican nationals, but USCIS requires the role to match the TN psychology definition precisely. Ensure your job title and duties description in the offer letter reflect direct psychological services, not program management or research, before your employer prepares the TN support letter.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Psychology openings
Not every LifeStance posting is open to sponsored candidates. Search and filter Psychology roles at LifeStance Health on Migrate Mate to surface positions where sponsorship has been confirmed, saving you from pursuing applications that will stall at the offer stage.

Does LifeStance Health sponsor H-1B visas for Psychologys?
LifeStance Health's primary sponsorship pathways for psychology roles are employment-based immigrant visas (EB-2 and EB-3) rather than H-1B. Psychology is a doctoral-level specialty occupation, and because LifeStance tends to hire for permanent clinical positions, immigrant visa sponsorship is the more common route. If H-1B is relevant to your situation, raise it directly with the recruiter during the offer process.
How do I apply for Psychology jobs at LifeStance Health?
You can search open Psychology roles through LifeStance Health's careers page or browse verified sponsorship-eligible postings on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your CV to reflect independent clinical practice experience and include your licensure status and state clearly. Recruiters screen for licensure eligibility early, so addressing it upfront reduces back-and-forth.
Which visa types are commonly used for Psychology roles at LifeStance Health?
LifeStance Health has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for psychology professionals, reflecting the doctoral-level and licensed nature of the roles. For candidates with F-1 status, OPT and CPT can bridge employment while longer-term sponsorship is arranged. Canadian and Mexican nationals holding psychology doctorates may qualify for TN status, which LifeStance has also supported.
What qualifications does LifeStance Health expect for Psychology positions?
Most LifeStance Psychology roles require a doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in psychology and an active, unrestricted state license. Clinical experience in outpatient behavioral health is strongly preferred. Because LifeStance clinicians practice independently and bill insurance directly, provisional licensure or supervised hours status typically disqualifies a candidate from sponsorship consideration at offer stage.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Psychology role at LifeStance Health?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa category. TN and F-1 OPT transitions can happen within weeks of an offer. PERM-based EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship typically takes 12 to 24 months before USCIS receives a petition, and priority date backlogs can extend total timelines further. Raising your visa situation with LifeStance HR before accepting an offer lets both sides plan around realistic USCIS and DOL processing windows.
