Position Summary:
The Caregiver provides personal care, companionship, and homemaker services to clients in their homes in accordance with Maryland Department of Health (MDH) standards, agency policies, and each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role is essential in supporting client dignity, independence, safety, and overall well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Caregivers are responsible for delivering services outlined in each client’s Plan of Care, which may include:

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including:

Bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Toileting and personal hygiene
- Ambulation, transfers, and mobility assistance
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Medication reminders (no medication administration)
- Light housekeeping and laundry related to client care
- Companionship and social engagement
- Assisting with or arranging transportation for medical or health-related appointments, as appropriate
- Observing, taking, and recording basic vital signs when required and trained
- Providing basic first aid in emergency situations, within scope of training
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment and promptly reporting safety concerns
- Accurately documenting services provided and observations in the client record each shift
- Reporting any changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the supervisor or nurse immediately
- Following all agency policies, infection control standards, HIPAA requirements, and professional boundaries
- Participating in required trainings, meetings, and performance evaluations
- Representing Premium Care USA in a professional, respectful, and well-groomed manner.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lawfully work in the United States
- Willingness to complete required caregiver training
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated respect for client privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to follow care plans and agency policies

- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Ongoing communication with supervisors regarding availability, schedule changes, and client needs
- Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and ethical care
- Reliable transportation and a working phone for agency communication, as required by assignment

- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, and climb stairs throughout the shift
