JOB SUMMARY:
The Safety Management System (SMS) Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring the facility Safety Management System to include mandatory regulatory compliance and routine risk control practices. In this role, you will develop, write, and implement policies, procedures and programs to ensure that the safety management system is integrated into the organization in a systematic way.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Work effectively with heads of departments and/or their dedicated focal points to develop, implement and maintain the Safety Management System.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements with specific focus on EASA regulation No. 216/2008 and ICAO Standards with specific focus on Annex 19.
- Maintains and monitors implementation of the overall Safety Management System.
- Represents the Company with Dassault Aviation in relation to the Safety Management System (may include the need for international travel).
- Evaluates incidents and accidents to determine impact (or not) on the Safety Management System.
- Plans and oversees programs to promote safety awareness and compliance on all shifts in a 24-hour operation.
- Coordinates with BTI to evaluate and give inputs on the facility risk register (updated on an annual basis).
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year accredited college or university. Completed, relevant education from an accredited college or university may be substituted with years of relevant work experience. 1 year of education = 2 years of experience.
Five (5) years of experience in an aircraft maintenance and/or completion environment.
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations and rules relative to OSHA/Safety, machinery operation, related mandatory Safety Management compliance knowledge.
Ability to interpret complex safety regulations and to communicate the interpretations to applicable management.
Ability to work effectively under deadline constraints.
Ability to address mandatory Safety Management System compliance issues in verbal or written form to management in a clear and concise manner.
Standing, walking and climbing stairs for extended periods and distances of approximately 1.5 miles with or without accommodation.
Computer literate with ability to prepare flow-charts and schedules.
Experience in development of procedures and instructions.
Experience in presenting information to senior level management.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in military or civilian aviation and aircraft safety.
- Ability to develop & maintain liaison with Department, Management and Support Activities.
- Management experience in aircraft operations.
- Experience working in a certified Repair Station.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office, hangar and shop conditions.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The compensation for this position typically falls between $85,675.00 and $114,429.50 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime under FLSA guidelines. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
