Role Summary
The ‘Hawaiʻi Commercial Planning & Performance Director’ is the sole subject matter expert and thought leader for the overall commercial performance of the Hawai‘i market at Alaska Air Group (AAG). As an individual contributor, this role works in a cross-functional and matrixed environment to design and implement innovative solutions to drive revenue, profitability, and loyalty in the Hawai‘i market.
Key Duties
- Working alongside stakeholders, define the long-term Commercial strategy for AAG in Hawai‘i with core accountability on growing market share, profitability, and local brand loyalty.
- Define and execute short- and medium-term market strategy, including crisp articulation and insights on prioritized customer segments in partnership with Hawai‘i- and West Coast-based Commercial team leaders.
- Make significant, impactful decisions on AAG’s Commercial management system(s) in Hawaiʻi to drive cross-functional performance and results.
- Represent as the Commercial liaison to the ‘CEO, Hawaiian Airlines’, providing local support and accountability on Commercial strategy.
- Own the Hawai‘i performance reporting process to ensure actionable insights are delivered to appropriate internal stakeholders to drive results.
- Advise on long-term Honolulu hub and Hawai‘i market planning; working closely with Network Planning to define and implement optimal network and schedule for the Hawai‘i market.
- Work alongside Brand and Loyalty teams to ensure timely delivery of relevant localized brand and loyalty strategy.
- Own Hawai‘i-specific Commercial strategies and product offerings.
- Construct, deliver, and maintain systems, data, and dashboards to set, track, and drive performance to commercial and related goals for the Hawaiian Airlines brand and AAG’s business in Hawai‘i.
- Influence outcomes and contribute meaningfully to Hawai‘i market presence through engagement with customers, tourism and travel, and other external partners.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
- 10 years of experience in strategy, sales, business strategy, corporate strategy, or management consulting, or related area.
- Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- A self-motivated, personable, organized, and cooperative co-worker; supportive of team efforts and goals.
- Able to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic market environment and willing to work in a virtual environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization, including the ability to produce executive-level presentations and communication materials.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Ability to think strategically and “outside the box”.
- Able and willing to travel at least 20% of the time to meet with Commercial teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
