INTRODUCTION
Clean Harbors is seeking a Field Service Project Intern. We are searching for a reliable and team-oriented individual with an excellent commitment to safety to join our growing team during the Summer of 2026!
Please note you will primarily be working in the field (indoors and outdoors)
The Field Service Project internship is designed for students interested in maintaining a sustainable environment. The intern will be responsible for tasks associated with field service projects, including customer service, relationship building, and project scoping. This position will work both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, and customer sites. Students will have the opportunity to shadow other positions within the Company. Interns can expect to participate in networking events and complete a final presentation at the conclusion of the program.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO WORK FOR CLEAN HARBORS?
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree/ diploma in an applicable discipline (Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, etc.) and be in third or fourth year.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
- Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
- Conducts projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, provincial, and local regulations and health and safety plans
- Assist team with business development, maintenance of customer relationships and the scoping and quoting of projects/jobs; documents competitive issues and conveys findings to management.
- Works with the Field Service Coordinator and Branch Manager in the communication of the manpower, equipment and resources required to complete scheduled and emergency response projects.
- Assist with proper communication with the foreman/supervisor to ensure that contractual obligations are met to complete requested services.
- Works with the health and safety organization to communicate effectively and assure that correct safety plans are in place
- Shadow various roles within the Organization to learn about overall business
- Follow all local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules
- Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
- Attend Networking events within the Internship Program
- Complete a final project presentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
