ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting key Compliance Department functions, including investigating and resolving customer credit disputes through the E-OSCAR system and standardized correspondence. This role ensures timely tracking, response, and documentation of customer and regulatory complaints.
This position supports monitoring and follow-up on internal audit findings and state examination reports, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance requirements while managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Daily review and completion of credit disputes received via e-OSCAR and daily completion of direct dispute letters received at Home Office regarding customer accounts.
- Ensure customer complaints are processed, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Distribute customer letters to Home Office, Supervisors, and Director of Compliance, and follow up for a response, tracking if needed. Prepare initial response of letters when appropriate.
- Ensure audit reports are processed; create a follow-up for supervisor response, alert supervisor, and Director of Compliance for overdue responses.
- Prepare initial customer complaint response for Director of Compliance and Home Office counsel review.
- Cross-trained to handle, in addition to the tasks, the duties of the Vendor Compliance Specialist should such a need arise.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Highest level of integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, and/or sit for eight (8) hours a day.
- Communicate effectively, verbally, written, in person, via telephone, or electronically.
- Lift and maneuver up to 20 lbs.
