BOC General Manager
The BOC General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Bus Operations Control (BOC) department, ensuring efficient and effective dispatching of transit services. This role manages 3 BOC Managers and 12 Shift Supervisors to ensure proper coordination of fixed-route services, adherence to service schedules, and compliance with all safety and operational policies. In addition, the BOC General Manager plays a key leadership role in maintaining communication between operations, maintenance, safety, and customer service teams to provide a seamless and high-quality transit experience. The BOC General Manager provides a proactive management approach and will have overall responsibility of operations, including the delivery of safe and reliable service, employee oversight, management of contract assets, risk management, client and customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

Responsibilities
- Proven relationship builder with employees, the client, union partners, and the community
- According to the contract, sets commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team and leads the management team and employee workforce to achieve corporate/property safety goals, service performance, and financial objectives
- Responsible for identifying and developing business growth opportunities
- Responsible for optimizing the return on assets deployed within the business, including vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and performance management
- Responsible for identifying and analyzing KPIs to maintain positive results
- Ensures services are provided within budget and action plans are developed and implemented to improve operational efficiencies
- Responsible for determining and delivering the business unit budget
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and compliance with Transdev corporate safety standards
- Responsible for all staff management, development, and training in liaison with the corporate team as appropriate
- Ensures effective environmental compliance and sustainability management
- Provides complete and accurate data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting
- Other duties as required
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in transit operations or relevant education obtained through alternative methods will be considered
- Experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field, or equivalent business experience preferred
Field and years of experience required
- Minimum of 5 years as a successful General Manager of a project of a similar size and scope preferred, or proven ability to grow and adapt quickly, with proven performance and expertise providing high-quality service to the community
- At least 5 years of experience managing a fleet of 500 or more fixed route or paratransit buses
- Labor relations experience
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, transit scheduling, and service planning
- Familiarity with transit-specific technologies such as CAD/AVL, scheduling software, and radio communication systems
- Thorough knowledge of ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
- Ability to build solid and maintain strong working relationships with clients
- Ability to manage cost control and financial budget
- Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding technology, apps, Wi-Fi, and understanding of transportation technology
- Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to details
- Ability to work effectively with union partners, including labor grievances and negotiations
- Travel requirement: <10%
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
- 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in an air-conditioned or well-ventilated facility
- Work is conducted in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer
- The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen
