Maintenance Journeyman
Pay Rate:
$38.56/hour

The Job You Will Perform:
- Work in a safe manner.
- Responsible for effectively troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other components for all equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Facilitate fabrication of equipment and parts through machining contractors.
- Read prints and manuals.
- Coordinate with third-party contractors as needed.
- Lubricate and clean parts.
- Attend meetings, participate in individual and team initiatives, and possess excellent verbal communication skills.
- Complete personal training and support other training as required.
- Uses computer-based programs to track work, time, and inventories.
Specific Duties:
- Perform all jobs safely and properly.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks.
- Complete work-orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain shop and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Able to work extended and odd hours during machine breakdowns.
- Operate and maintain air compressors.
- Maintain and repair mechanical fixed equipment as well as mobile equipment (forklifts).
- Repair and install equipment.
- Maintain and repair building.
- Communicate with supervisor and production team on maintenance issues.
- Be able and willing to accept responsibility for maintaining the plant on a shift by working independently, and without other help.
- Able to manage paperwork for work orders, PM’s, and inventories as required.
- Other duties as specified by supervisor.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a mechanic required.
- Experience working with hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred.
- Working on medium to heavy manufacturing machinery preferred.
- Experience operating shop related machines and tools required.
- Preventive maintenance.
- Difference and usage of greases.
- Application and proper amount of lubricant.
- This individual must be a self-motivated team player.
- Willing to work overtime and flexible hours to include alternative shifts as needed.
- Inspection for worn, broken, out-of-line and missing parts.
- Read and understand machine manuals, and troubleshooting manuals.
- Parts identification.
- Operating shop machines/tools.
- Drill Press.
- Precision tools: micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, etc.
- Pump rebuilding.
- Able to replace, repair, and adjust to manufacturer specifications:
- Bearings, seals
- v-belts, chains
- Air valves, hydraulic valves
- Pumps, couplings
- All machinery parts
- Troubleshoot and repair mobile equipment.
