Document Your Project Management Credentials Early
Gather certifications like PMP, LEED, or OSHA 30-Hour before applying. Cooper Tacia's General Contractor roles involve overseeing full project lifecycles, so having verifiable credentials on hand speeds up the employer's internal review and PERM labor certification preparation.
Target Cooper Tacia Through Construction-Specific Channels
Cooper Tacia operates in the commercial construction space, so industry job boards, contractor networks, and AGC chapter connections are more likely to surface their openings than general job platforms. Position yourself as a candidate with direct general contracting experience, not just a construction background.
Understand Why EB-3 Fits Construction Roles
General Contractor positions often qualify under EB-3 skilled worker criteria when the role requires at least two years of training or experience. If Cooper Tacia sponsors you under EB-3, expect the PERM process to require a prevailing wage determination from DOL before the petition moves forward.
Clarify the PERM Timeline Before Signing an Offer
PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes 12 to 24 months just for the labor certification stage. Before accepting a General Contractor offer from Cooper Tacia, confirm whether they've begun or plan to begin PERM recruitment, so you can plan around your current visa status.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Active General Contractor Openings
Search for General Contractor roles at Cooper Tacia directly on Migrate Mate, which filters for employers with verified sponsorship activity. This lets you prioritize applications where the company has already demonstrated a willingness to support employment-based immigration for this function.
Align Your Resume to PERM Job Description Requirements
Under PERM, USCIS and DOL scrutinize whether your qualifications match the approved job description exactly. Make sure your resume reflects the specific duties and experience levels Cooper Tacia lists in the role, since discrepancies can complicate the labor certification filing later.

Find General Contractor at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company sponsor H-1B visas for General Contractors?
Cooper Tacia's documented sponsorship activity centers on employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B. General Contractor roles in construction often fall outside H-1B's specialty occupation criteria, which requires a theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. If you're pursuing a role here, focus your conversations on Green Card sponsorship timelines rather than H-1B eligibility.
How do I apply for General Contractor jobs at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company?
Browse current General Contractor openings at Cooper Tacia on Migrate Mate, which curates listings from employers with verified sponsorship histories. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect full project lifecycle experience including subcontractor coordination, budget oversight, and compliance work. Address your visa sponsorship needs directly in your cover letter or initial outreach rather than waiting until an offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for General Contractor roles at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company?
Cooper Tacia sponsors employment-based immigrant visas, with EB-2 and EB-3 being the primary pathways for General Contractor positions. EB-3 is the more common route for skilled trade and construction management roles requiring at least two years of experience. EB-2 applies when the position requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Both pathways go through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications and experience does Cooper Tacia expect for General Contractor roles?
General Contractor positions at Cooper Tacia typically require hands-on experience managing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, including subcontractor oversight, scheduling, and code compliance. A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field strengthens your application. Certifications like OSHA 30-Hour or PMP are commonly valued. Prior experience in commercial or mixed-use projects is particularly relevant given the company's Construction and Real Estate focus.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a General Contractor role at Cooper Tacia?
The PERM labor certification process, which Cooper Tacia would need to complete first, generally takes 12 to 24 months depending on DOL processing volumes and whether an audit is triggered. After PERM approval, the I-140 immigrant petition is filed with USCIS. If your priority date is current, adjustment of status or consular processing follows. The full Green Card process from offer to approval can run two to four years or longer.
