Tailor your resume to construction operations
Highlight executive experience specific to general contracting, such as overseeing subcontractor networks, managing project lifecycles, and driving revenue growth. COO candidates at construction firms are evaluated on operational depth, not just management titles.
Understand PERM requirements before applying
Permanent residence sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 requires your employer to run a DOL-supervised PERM labor market test. Gather documentation of your specialized construction management qualifications early, since the process begins well before any visa filing.
Research Cooper Tacia's project portfolio
Demonstrating familiarity with the company's general contracting scope, including commercial builds and subcontractor coordination, shows you can step into a COO role immediately. Interviewers at construction firms respond to candidates who understand their specific project types.
Clarify sponsorship intent during the offer stage
Ask directly whether Cooper Tacia will initiate an EB-2 or EB-3 petition as part of your employment package. Construction companies sponsoring at the COO level typically need lead time to engage immigration counsel and file the PERM application before your start date.
Track open COO listings through Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter COO openings at Cooper Tacia by visa sponsorship type so you're only targeting roles where EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is confirmed, saving time on outreach to positions that won't move forward.
Anticipate lengthy permanent residence timelines
EB-3 processing from PERM filing through USCIS approval can exceed two years, and backlogs vary by nationality. If you're already in the U.S. on a nonimmigrant status, confirm with your employer how your current visa will bridge the gap.

Does Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company sponsor H-1B visas for COOs?
Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company's documented sponsorship activity for COO roles centers on permanent residence pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, rather than H-1B nonimmigrant visas. COO positions in construction often require hands-on operational oversight that employers prefer to fill through direct permanent hires. If H-1B sponsorship is important to you, confirm the company's current position directly during the hiring process.
How do I apply for COO jobs at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company?
Search for current COO openings at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm Green Card sponsorship is attached before applying. Prepare a resume that emphasizes executive leadership within general contracting, subcontractor management, and construction project delivery. Reaching out to the company's leadership directly can also be effective for senior roles at a firm this size.
Which visa types are commonly used for COO roles at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company?
COO sponsorships at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company follow the EB-2 and EB-3 permanent residence categories. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree or significant skilled experience. Both categories require a DOL-certified PERM labor market test before USCIS adjudication.
What qualifications does Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company expect from COO candidates?
COO candidates at a general contracting firm are expected to bring senior-level experience managing construction operations, including overseeing project execution, subcontractor relationships, budgets, and field teams. A background in construction management, civil engineering, or business administration at the graduate level typically supports an EB-2 filing. Demonstrated P&L responsibility and experience scaling a contracting operation carry significant weight.
How do I navigate the Green Card filing process for a COO role at Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company?
Once you receive and accept an offer, Cooper Tacia's immigration counsel files a PERM application with the DOL, documenting that no qualified U.S. worker was available for the role. After PERM certification, an I-140 immigrant petition is filed with USCIS. Depending on your nationality and the EB category, a visa number may be immediately available or subject to a backlog. Plan for a multi-year timeline and maintain valid status throughout.
