Job Summary
The Safety Manager promotes a proactive Safety and Health Program to prevent workplace injuries, reduce material losses, and minimize operational interruptions. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations and builds a strong safety culture across station operations.
Employment Status: Full-Time
Compensation Rate: $70,000.00 yearly
City & Airport: Las Vegas, NV - Harry Reid International Airport (On-Site)
Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Foster a strong safety culture across all station operations.
- Share safety communications (bulletins, posters, updates).
- Lead root cause analysis of incidents and accidents.
- Conduct audits per WFS policy and identify risks.
- Run safety committee meetings and report findings.
- Review incidents and trends; recommend and track corrective actions.
- Ensure reporting system use (e.g., Pulse) and protocol compliance.
Compliance & Quality
- Assess operations for compliance with WFS, airline, and regulatory standards.
- Track performance vs. SLAs (e.g., on-time, baggage).
- Investigate service failures and drive improvements.
- Partner with GM and Regional Director to resolve safety/service issues.
Training & Development
- Identify and address training needs with the training team.
- Ensure completion of WFS and airline-specific training.
- Maintain access to GOMs; develop/update LOPs based on risks.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety laws and risk management.
- Experience in incident investigation and safety audits.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting systems.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong observational ability.
- Certification in occupational health and safety is a plus.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to walk long distances and navigate uneven or airfield surfaces.
- Able to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift or carry items up to 25 pounds.
- Climb stairs or ladders as needed for inspections.
- Visual and auditory abilities required (with or without accommodation).
- Work in varied environments, including outdoor weather conditions.
- Capable of responding safely and promptly to emergencies.
