Job Roles at ConocoPhillips Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in ConocoPhillips Visa Sponsorship USA
Target technical and engineering roles
ConocoPhillips sponsors visa holders predominantly in engineering, geoscience, and data-intensive roles. Focus your search on petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, and subsurface analytics positions where international candidates are most competitive and sponsorship is most consistently offered.
Understand which visa types ConocoPhillips supports
ConocoPhillips sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Australian citizens should specifically highlight E-3 eligibility in applications, as it simplifies the sponsorship process for employers compared to the H-1B lottery.
Pursue ConocoPhillips internships to build a path to sponsorship
ConocoPhillips runs structured internship programs that frequently convert to full-time roles. Starting on F-1 CPT as an intern builds internal advocacy and familiarity with your work before the company commits to long-term visa sponsorship.
Apply well ahead of H-1B registration season
H-1B registration opens each March. Targeting ConocoPhillips roles in the preceding fall recruitment cycle gives you time to receive an offer, complete onboarding discussions, and have your employer file before the deadline without being rushed.
Filter for verified sponsors before applying
Not every energy company that posts a job will actually sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on ConocoPhillips and similar companies with documented records.
Leverage ConocoPhillips's Green Card track record in interviews
ConocoPhillips has a strong history of supporting Green Card applications, particularly through the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. Asking about long-term immigration support during interviews signals career commitment and gives you insight into how the company handles permanent residency.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ConocoPhillips sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ConocoPhillips sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so. Sponsorship is most common in technical disciplines such as petroleum engineering, geoscience, and data science. Because H-1B selection involves a lottery, ConocoPhillips typically initiates the process well in advance of the annual March registration window for qualifying employees.
What visa types does ConocoPhillips sponsor?
ConocoPhillips sponsors H-1B, E-3, and TN visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degrees. For permanent residency, the company has sponsored employees through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. Australian citizens may find the E-3 route particularly straightforward, as it bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely.
Which roles at ConocoPhillips are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at ConocoPhillips is concentrated in technical and scientific roles where specialized credentials are required. Petroleum engineers, reservoir engineers, geophysicists, data scientists, and environmental engineers are among the positions most frequently sponsored. Corporate functions like finance or HR are sponsored less often, as those roles draw from a broader domestic candidate pool.
How do I find ConocoPhillips job openings that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at ConocoPhillips alongside verified sponsorship history, so you can confirm sponsorship before applying rather than discovering late in the process that it isn't available. Filter by visa type to match ConocoPhillips openings to your specific status, whether you're on OPT, H-1B, or eligible for the E-3.
How do I approach the ConocoPhillips application process as an international candidate?
Apply through ConocoPhillips's careers portal and clearly indicate your visa status and authorization needs in your application. Be upfront about your timeline, particularly if your OPT expires soon or you need H-1B sponsorship before March registration. ConocoPhillips has experience navigating these timelines, so a well-prepared, transparent candidate is easier for their HR and immigration teams to support.
