ABOUT THE METALS TEAM
The North American Metals business unit within Clarios leads the world’s largest closed loop recycling economy. Across our recycling network, we responsibly recycle over 8,000 batteries every hour of every day. We convert the lead into the grids, and oxides that go into our new batteries. We take the plastics and convert them into new battery cases, and we have the ability to process the acid for use in by-products such as ingredients for detergents. As a result, automotive batteries are the most recycled consumer product in North America and other G7 economies. The recycling rates of lead-acid batteries now exceed 99 percent. That tops aluminum, paper, tires and glass.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
This role exists to bring senior-level leadership, decision-making, and rigor to the management of Clarios’ ~$800M metals inventory. The Manager will own the full governance framework for inventory accuracy across warehouses, recycling centers, border operations, and plant interfaces. This enhanced role adds people leadership, agile decision-making, external influence, and financial fluency to deliver rapid stabilization and long-term control of North America’s metals inventory environment.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT
Inventory Governance & Accuracy:
- Own and continuously refine the NA Metals inventory governance model, ensuring end-to-end accuracy across lead, core, and in-transit categories – primarily focused on cores.
- Implement internal controls, cycle count frameworks, exception reporting, and reconciliation standards across 20+ sites.
- Lead root-cause analyses for discrepancies and drive corrective actions across warehouses, plants, recycling centers, and carriers.
People Leadership:
- Manage and develop two direct reports with clear priorities, routines, KPIs, and deliverables.
- Delegate effectively while maintaining oversight of accuracy-critical processes.
- Set clear expectations and cultivate a culture of high accountability and urgency.
Agile Decision Making & Issues Management:
- Rapidly diagnose process failures and data inconsistencies, convening cross-functional stakeholders as needed.
- Make timely decisions based on incomplete information to prevent inventory risk from escalating.
- Lead swift implementation of fixes—process, system, behavioral, or policy-related.
Cross-Functional & External Influence:
- Build and strengthen relationships with recycling partners, freight providers, warehouses, border operations teams, and plant leadership.
- Influence external stakeholders to align on process changes, documentation requirements, handling standards, and reconciliation expectations.
- Proactively identify upstream and downstream risks and lead collaboration to prevent them.
- Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to validate inventory valuation, ensure alignment with accounting policies, and quantify cost-of-control decisions.
- Partner with Digital/IT and Palantir teams to mature automation, alerts, and exception-based logic.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Required:
- 7–10+ years in inventory control, supply chain, plant materials management, finance, or operations.
- Demonstrated success leading inventory stabilization or turnaround efforts.
- Experience managing a team and providing clear direction under pressure.
- Strong financial acumen: understanding of inventory valuation, working capital, freight impact, and commodity cost flows.
- Proven ability to influence partners outside your chain of command, including external vendors/3PLs.
- Expertise in SAP, reconciliation processes, and analytics tools (Excel, PowerBI).
Preferred:
- Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) / Project Management Experience
WHAT YOU GET:
- Medical, dental and vision care coverage and a 401(k) savings plan with company matching – all starting on date of hire
- Tuition reimbursement, perks, and discounts
- Parental and caregiver leave programs
- All the usual benefits such as paid time off, flexible spending, short-and long-term disability, basic life insurance, business travel insurance, and Employee Assistance Program
- Global market strength and worldwide market share leadership
- HQ location earns LEED certification for sustainability plus a full-service cafeteria and workout facility
- Clarios has been recognized as one of 2025's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere. This prestigious recognition marks the third consecutive year Clarios has received this distinction.

Job Roles at Clarios Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Clarios Visa Sponsorship USA
Target engineering and technical roles
Clarios's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to battery systems, electronics, and hardware development. Focus your applications on engineering, R&D, and manufacturing roles where the company has a demonstrated history of supporting international talent.
Prioritize Green Card-track positions
Clarios shows a strong lean toward permanent residency sponsorship over temporary work visas. When reviewing job postings, look for roles with long-term retention signals, senior-level titles, specialized technical requirements, and language about relocation or global mobility.
Understand the specialty occupation requirement
H-1B sponsorship at Clarios is reserved for roles that require a specific degree in a relevant field. Ensure your degree aligns directly with the job description, a mismatch between your field of study and the role can complicate or delay the petition.
Research Clarios's global manufacturing footprint
Clarios operates across multiple U.S. facilities in states like Wisconsin and Michigan. Knowing which locations are actively hiring in your specialty helps you target the right business unit and increases your chances of finding a team with active sponsorship capacity.
Use verified sponsorship data when job searching
Not every Clarios job posting will explicitly mention visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify Clarios openings where sponsorship has actually been approved before.
Prepare for a multi-stage technical interview process
Clarios hires for specialized hardware and battery technology roles where deep domain expertise matters. Be ready to demonstrate hands-on technical knowledge relevant to energy storage or electronics systems, generic engineering answers are unlikely to advance your candidacy.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Clarios sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Clarios does sponsor H-1B visas, though the majority of its sponsorship activity is directed toward permanent residency pathways like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than temporary work visas. H-1B sponsorship at Clarios tends to be tied to specialized engineering and technical roles in battery technology and electronics hardware, where the company has difficulty sourcing qualified domestic candidates.
What visa types does Clarios sponsor?
Clarios sponsors both temporary work visas and immigrant visas leading to permanent residency. On the temporary side, H-1B is the primary category. For permanent residency, Clarios actively uses the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based green card pathways. The company's overall sponsorship profile skews heavily toward Green Card filings, suggesting a preference for long-term talent retention over short-term visa arrangements.
Which departments or roles at Clarios are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Clarios is most concentrated in technical and engineering functions, particularly roles involving battery system design, electrical engineering, hardware development, and manufacturing engineering. R&D-focused positions and those requiring advanced degrees in engineering or applied sciences are the strongest candidates for sponsorship, as these roles align directly with the specialty occupation and PERM labor certification requirements Clarios uses.
How do I find currently open visa-sponsored jobs at Clarios?
The most reliable approach is to use a platform that cross-references job openings with verified sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you browse Clarios job listings filtered by companies with a real track record of sponsoring visas, so you're not relying on whether a job posting explicitly says 'visa sponsorship available.' This saves significant time and reduces the risk of applying to roles where sponsorship won't actually be offered.
What is the typical visa sponsorship application timeline at Clarios?
For H-1B sponsorship, the process typically begins several months before the October 1 fiscal year start date, with lottery registration in March and petition filing in April. For Green Card sponsorship via PERM, the process can span one to three years depending on your priority date and country of birth. Clarios's preference for Green Card pathways suggests the company is prepared to support candidates through longer-term immigration processes, but timelines vary by role and location.
