Target roles that align with Cadence's core EDA focus
Cadence sponsors visa holders primarily in technical disciplines tied to electronic design automation, chip development, and semiconductor IP. Roles in VLSI design, verification, and software engineering for EDA tools are among the most sponsorship-active areas to pursue.
Understand that Cadence sponsors both temporary and permanent pathways
Cadence actively files both H-1B petitions and Green Card applications, meaning the company often supports long-term immigration goals, not just short-term work authorization. If permanent residency matters to you, Cadence is worth prioritizing in your job search.
Apply well before H-1B cap season closes
H-1B registrations open in March for an October start date. Target Cadence job postings in the October-to-February window so your offer and paperwork can align with the annual registration deadline without a rushed timeline on either side.
Emphasize deep technical specialization in your application
Cadence operates in a highly specialized segment of the Electronics & Hardware industry. Candidates who demonstrate expertise in specific EDA tools, hardware verification languages like SystemVerilog or UVM, or semiconductor design flows tend to stand out in their technical screening process.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified Cadence openings by visa type
Cadence posts roles across multiple teams and locations, not all of which have the same sponsorship posture. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and identify which Cadence openings explicitly support H-1B applicants.
Factor in Cadence's global office footprint when choosing which roles to pursue
Cadence has major engineering hubs in California, Texas, and other states, and sponsorship availability can vary by office. Research which locations house the largest engineering teams, as those sites typically carry the strongest sponsorship capacity within the company.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cadence Design Systems sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Cadence Design Systems sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so across its engineering and technical workforce. The company operates in a highly specialized field where international talent is essential, so H-1B sponsorship is a regular part of its hiring process, particularly for roles in EDA software, chip design, and hardware verification.
Which visa types does Cadence Design Systems sponsor?
Cadence Design Systems sponsors both H-1B visas for temporary skilled workers and employment-based Green Cards, primarily in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. This dual-pathway approach means the company is willing to support candidates not just for an initial work authorization period but potentially through to permanent residency, making it a strong long-term option for international professionals.
Which departments or roles at Cadence Design Systems are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Cadence is concentrated in technical and engineering roles tied to its core business in electronic design automation and semiconductor IP. Positions in EDA software development, digital and analog chip design, hardware verification, and machine learning applied to semiconductor workflows are among the most common sponsored roles. Research and development teams and product engineering groups tend to have the highest sponsorship activity.
How do I find open jobs at Cadence Design Systems that sponsor visas?
The most reliable way is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates visa-sponsoring employers and lets you filter specifically for Cadence Design Systems openings with verified sponsorship history. This saves time compared to manually checking job listings that may not clarify sponsorship status. Look for roles posted between October and February to give yourself the most runway ahead of the H-1B registration window.
How do I approach the application process at Cadence Design Systems as a visa-sponsored candidate?
Lead with your technical qualifications, not your visa situation. Cadence recruits in a competitive, highly specialized industry where your expertise in EDA tools, hardware design, or verification methodologies is the primary filter. Once you're in the interview process, it's reasonable to confirm sponsorship availability with a recruiter. Cadence has a strong enough sponsorship track record that raising the topic professionally won't hurt your candidacy.
