Team/Department Overview:

Accounting & Finance - Reporting directly to Manager, Accounting & Payroll

Core Responsibilities

1. Payroll Processing and Compliance:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Verify and reconcile payroll data, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of payroll tax returns
- Review and correct timesheets for hourly employees daily
- Connect with managers of hourly employees to ensure timesheet change requests, PTO requests, and timesheet approvals are completed in a timely manner

1. Payroll Reconciliations:
2. Implement and maintain workforce management systems to optimize employee scheduling, time tracking, and labor costs, across our employees workforce
3. Analyze workforce data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements

4. Collaborate with People team and department managers to align workforce management strategies with business objectives

5. Accounting and Financial Reporting:

6. Prepare and review general ledger entries related to payroll
7. Monitor Accounts Payable inbox and process invoices in Tipalti AP system
8. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting

9. Support internal and external audits related to payroll and workforce management

10. System Utilization and Optimization:

11. Utilize payroll and workforce management software (e.g., UKG, Insightful) efficiently
12. Identify and implement system enhancements for increased efficiency and accuracy

13. Provide training and support to staff on payroll and workforce management systems and procedures

14. Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:

15. Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and company policies
16. Prepare and support periodic audits to ensure adherence to standards and accurate reporting
17. Reconcile contractor resource billing with reported hours

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll accounting, with significant experience in workforce management
- Extensive knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in payroll and workforce management in UKG preferred
- Proficiency in accounting in Netsuite preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on team collaboration
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $64,000 - $91,000 per year. This reflects typical earning potential in this role based on market data and individual factors including skill sets, experience, and geographic location. In addition to salary, full-time employees are eligible for an equity package and competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Flock Freight.
