Job Roles at Morrison Foerster
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Morrison Foerster Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target attorney and specialist roles
Green Card sponsorship at Morrison Foerster is most common in attorney-track and specialized professional positions. Focus your applications on roles where long-term retention is a priority for the firm, such as associate attorney or senior legal specialist positions.
Raise sponsorship early in the hiring process
Law firms often have structured immigration policies. Ask about Green Card sponsorship during the offer stage rather than after signing, so you understand the firm's timeline expectations and which roles qualify before committing.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Morrison Foerster's Green Card pathway typically begins with PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor. Familiarize yourself with PERM requirements and timelines so you can have informed conversations with the firm's immigration counsel.
Leverage your visa history as a trust signal
If you're currently on H-1B or another nonimmigrant status sponsored by the firm, you're in a stronger position to request Green Card sponsorship. Demonstrated performance and longevity within the firm significantly improves your chances.
Search for verified sponsoring employers before applying
Not every law firm sponsors Green Cards for every role. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your search on Morrison Foerster openings where sponsorship is actually available.
Connect with the firm's immigration coordinator
Large law firms like Morrison Foerster typically have in-house or retained immigration counsel managing Green Card cases. Building a direct relationship with HR or the immigration coordinator helps you navigate the internal process and set realistic timeline expectations.

Does Morrison Foerster sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Morrison Foerster does sponsor Green Card visas for qualifying employees. Sponsorship is selective and typically reserved for attorneys and key professional staff in long-term roles. The firm works with experienced immigration counsel to manage the process, including PERM labor certification and the appropriate employment-based immigrant visa category.
Which roles and departments at Morrison Foerster are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Morrison Foerster is most common in attorney-track roles, particularly associates on a long-term retention path. Specialized legal support roles with hard-to-fill skill sets may also qualify. Administrative and general support positions are less likely to receive sponsorship, as the firm prioritizes roles where ongoing immigration investment aligns with business needs.
How does the Green Card application process work at Morrison Foerster?
The process typically begins with PERM labor certification, where the firm must demonstrate through a supervised recruitment process that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is approved, Morrison Foerster files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. Depending on your country of birth and the visa category, you then either file for adjustment of status or consular processing.
How long does the Green Card process take at Morrison Foerster?
Timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the employment-based category used. For most applicants born outside of India or China, the process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can take two to four years. For applicants born in India, significant backlogs in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories mean waits can stretch considerably longer. Morrison Foerster's immigration team can give you a category-specific estimate.
How do I improve my chances of getting Green Card sponsorship at Morrison Foerster?
The strongest candidates for sponsorship are those already employed at the firm in a specialized or attorney-track role with a clear retention case. Raise the topic early, demonstrate your value in a role the firm would struggle to fill externally, and work with HR to understand internal sponsorship criteria. To find open roles where Green Card sponsorship is verified, Migrate Mate lets you filter by confirmed sponsorship history so you can apply with confidence.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Morrison Foerster?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
