About the Company
Valon is building the AI-native operating system for regulated finance, starting with mortgage servicing.
We're a Series C company backed by a16z, transforming industries that others have written off as too complex to innovate.
Rather than build on top of broken legacy systems, we took a different approach: we built and operate our own mortgage servicing business managing $110+ billion in loans. This wasn't the end goal, it was how we deeply understood the complexity needed to build software that actually works in regulated industries.
The results speak for themselves. We've transformed mortgage servicing from a 0% margin business into 60%+ margins while dramatically improving customer experience. Major enterprise contracts are now deploying across the industry.
ValonOS is our unified platform that makes every process structured and programmable and it is perfectly positioned for the AI era. When everything flows through one system with rich data, AI agents don't just automate tasks, they continuously improve entire operations. Mortgage servicing is just the beginning of our vision to transform regulated industries and beyond.
About the Role
We're hiring a Founder Associate to work directly with Valon's COO and executive team on the highest-leverage problems facing the company. This is not a traditional strategy & ops role — it's a generalist seat for someone with uncommon judgment, high agency, and the ability to context-switch across wildly different problem types in a single week.
One day you're modeling the economics of a new client deployment. The next you're redesigning an internal process that's breaking at scale. The day after you're drafting a board-ready memo or sitting in a client meeting helping close a deal. You won't specialize — you'll go wherever the most important unsolved problem is.
This role is designed for someone early in their career who wants to compress a decade of operating experience into a few years by working at the center of gravity of a fast-scaling company.
-
Own critical cross-functional projects end-to-end — scoping, stakeholder alignment, execution, and delivery. These will span client deployments, internal operations, pricing, AI enablement, and whatever else matters most right now.
-
Be the COO's force multiplier — synthesize information across teams, prepare materials for executive and board-level decisions, and flag problems before they become crises.
-
Build new functions from 0 → 1 — when Valon needs something that doesn't exist yet (a process, a team, a system), you'll be the person who figures out what good looks like and stands it up.
-
Use AI as a default tool — you regularly use Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools to automate your own workflows, analyze data, and move at a pace that would be impossible without AI fluency.
-
Navigate ambiguity with confidence — you won't get detailed briefs or clear swim lanes. You'll get context, constraints, and trust.
Who You Are
-
0–8 years of experience — you might be coming from a top consulting firm (MBB), a high-growth startup, an early-stage CoS role, or a rotational program. What matters more than pedigree is evidence of exceptional output and high agency.
-
Generalist by nature — you're the person who picks up new domains fast, whether it's mortgage servicing economics, AI deployment strategy, or org design.
-
High agency and low ego — you volunteer for the unglamorous work, you don't wait for permission, and you'd rather ship something imperfect today than perfect it next month.
-
Strong written communicator — you can write a crisp one-pager, a persuasive Slack message, or a detailed process doc with equal fluency.
-
AI-native — you already use AI tools daily to amplify your work. You think in terms of "how do I automate this" before "how do I do this manually."
-
Based in New York — this role is hybrid and requires in-person presence.
What Won't Work
-
People who need clearly defined roles and responsibilities to feel comfortable
-
Candidates who are strong analytically but struggle to execute and ship
-

-

Benefits
-
Competitive salary + meaningful equity (Series C stage)
-
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
-
Commuter benefits
-

Job Roles at Valon Technologies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Valon Technologies Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technical and engineering roles
Valon Technologies's Green Card sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, data, and platform infrastructure roles. Positioning yourself for these positions gives you the strongest chance of entering a sponsorship-eligible track at the company.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Green Card sponsorship at financial technology companies like Valon typically begins with PERM, where the employer documents the hiring process with the Department of Labor. Familiarize yourself with this step so you can have informed conversations during interviews.
Join on an H-1B first
Many Valon Technologies employees begin their Green Card journey after establishing themselves on an H-1B. Demonstrating strong performance in your role builds the internal case for the company to invest in your permanent residency sponsorship.
Ask directly during the offer stage
Valon Technologies operates in a competitive financial services talent market, giving candidates reasonable leverage to ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines and company policy during offer negotiations rather than waiting until after you've joined.
Search verified sponsorship listings before applying
Not every open role at a company leads to Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Valon Technologies roles most likely to include a Green Card pathway.
Build tenure before initiating the Green Card process
Financial technology companies in the Banking & Financial Services sector typically initiate Green Card sponsorship after an employee demonstrates sustained value. Treating your first year at Valon Technologies as a runway toward that conversation improves your odds significantly.

Does Valon Technologies sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Valon Technologies sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees. The company has an established track record of supporting permanent residency for international talent in the Banking & Financial Services space, particularly in technical and specialized operational roles. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability for a specific role during the interview or offer stage.
Which roles and departments at Valon Technologies are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Valon Technologies is most common in software engineering, data engineering, and product-adjacent technical roles. These positions align with the company's core platform infrastructure needs and tend to represent the talent where Valon is most motivated to invest in long-term retention through permanent residency.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Valon Technologies?
The process typically begins with PERM labor certification, where Valon Technologies works with immigration counsel to document the recruitment process and demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Once PERM is approved, the company files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. Your role is to coordinate with their immigration attorney and provide supporting documentation throughout.
How long does the Green Card process take at Valon Technologies?
Total timelines vary significantly depending on your country of birth and visa priority date. For most applicants outside of heavily backlogged countries, the PERM and I-140 stages together can take one to two years. Indian and Chinese nationals face substantially longer waits due to per-country backlogs that are independent of anything Valon Technologies controls.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Valon Technologies?
Start by searching Valon Technologies directly on Migrate Mate, which tracks verified Green Card sponsorship history so you can identify roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome rather than a possibility buried in fine print. Apply to roles that match your technical background and raise the Green Card question proactively once you reach the offer stage.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Valon Technologies?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
