INTRODUCTION
Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking a Technical Recruiter who can build strong pipelines, run a disciplined funnel, and perform credible first-pass technical qualification by partnering closely with hiring managers and coordinating with external recruiting firms.
Responsibilities
- Own sourcing for technology hiring across software engineering, infrastructure, and IT roles (junior through senior)
- Partner with hiring managers and recruiters to define requirements, clarify must-haves vs. nice-to-haves, and build sourcing plans
- Build top-of-funnel pipelines through multiple channels including LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, networking/events, targeted outreach, alumni groups, technical communities, and research-based sourcing
- Conduct initial technical qualification: validate experience, ask role-relevant technical questions, and produce structured candidate summaries that help hiring managers quickly assess fit
- Apply strong process discipline to manage pipeline stages and keep stakeholders aligned on progress and next steps
- Use Agile/Scrum-style practices (intake, prioritization, weekly check-ins, retrospective and process improvements) to continuously improve speed, quality, and candidate experience
- Drive funnel effectiveness: expand candidate volume while narrowing to only the highest-signal candidates for onsite / final rounds
- Build and manage relationships with external recruiting partners: calibrate on roles, set quality standards, track performance, and ensure agencies expand reach rather than duplicate efforts
- Track and report sourcing metrics (response rates, conversion by stage, pipeline health, time-to-fill) and use data to improve sourcing strategies
- Stay current on recruiting technology and AI tools; experiment with new sourcing approaches while maintaining confidentiality and candidate trust
- Work closely alongside the software engineering and IT teams day-to-day, including attending relevant project stand-ups / sprint planning, and occasionally pitching in on team initiatives (documentation, testing support, process tasks, light analysis) to build deeper context for the roles and improve technical qualification and outreach credibility
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical degree (CS, IT, Engineering, MIS, or similar) or equivalent technical foundation
- Prefer candidates coming from a tech-adjacent path such as Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, Project Manager, Implementation/Solutions Analyst, or similar
- Able to speak comfortably about technology fundamentals and ask smart technical clarifying questions (stack, systems, SDLC, infra basics, role-specific concepts)
- Demonstrated process orientation: experience working in structured delivery environments (e.g., Agile/Scrum) and strong follow-through
- Strong research, writing, and stakeholder communication skills; able to produce clear candidate assessments and run tight workflows
- High ownership and pace—comfortable operating in a demanding environment with a high-quality bar
COMPENSATION
- Base salary: $90,000 - $140,000 depending on experience. Actual offer will reflect your specific skills, years of relevant experience, and fit for the role. It is unlikely that all new hires will start at the top of this range.

Job Roles at Weiss Asset Management Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Weiss Asset Management Visa Sponsorship USA
Target quantitative and research roles
Weiss Asset Management's sponsorship activity centers on analytically intensive positions. If your background is in quantitative research, data science, or portfolio analysis, you're targeting the roles most likely to come with H-1B or Green Card sponsorship support.
Understand the firm's selective hiring culture
Weiss is a small, highly selective hedge fund. Applications that demonstrate deep quantitative depth and independent thinking stand out. Generic finance resumes won't cut it, tailor your materials to show rigorous problem-solving and investment research experience.
Time your application around graduate recruiting cycles
Like most hedge funds, Weiss recruits heavily from top graduate programs. If you're on OPT through an MBA or quantitative master's program, timing your application to align with their recruiting calendar improves your chances of being considered for sponsored roles.
Use verified sponsorship data to prioritize your search
Not every hedge fund publicly lists visa sponsorship policies. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your effort on firms like Weiss that have a demonstrated track record with international candidates.
Prepare for a rigorous technical process
Weiss is known for a thorough interview process that tests quantitative reasoning and investment thinking. Arriving prepared with strong technical fundamentals signals you're a serious candidate, exactly the profile this firm sponsors and retains long-term.

Does Weiss Asset Management sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Weiss Asset Management sponsors H-1B visas. The firm has a consistent record of supporting H-1B petitions for qualified international professionals, particularly in quantitative and research-focused roles. Given its selective hiring approach, sponsorship is typically offered to candidates who clear a rigorous technical evaluation process rather than through high-volume open recruiting.
What types of visas does Weiss Asset Management sponsor?
Weiss Asset Management sponsors H-1B visas and has supported employment-based Green Card pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. The firm also accommodates F-1 students through OPT and CPT arrangements. This range of sponsorship types makes Weiss a viable option whether you're early in your U.S. work authorization journey or pursuing permanent residency.
Which roles at Weiss Asset Management are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Weiss tends to follow roles that require specialized quantitative expertise, think research analysts, quantitative developers, and data-driven portfolio positions. The firm is a small, analytically focused hedge fund, so sponsored hires are concentrated in core investment and research functions rather than generalist or operational support roles.
How do I find open sponsored positions at Weiss Asset Management?
Weiss Asset Management recruits selectively and doesn't always post openings broadly. Migrate Mate tracks verified sponsorship history by employer, so you can browse Weiss's profile alongside other confirmed sponsors in investment management and filter for roles that match your visa type and background, saving time you'd otherwise spend guessing which firms will actually sponsor.
How do I approach the application process at Weiss Asset Management as an international candidate?
Lead with technical strength rather than sponsorship logistics. Weiss values quantitative depth above all else, so your application should demonstrate rigorous analytical thinking and relevant research experience. Once you've cleared initial screens, the sponsorship conversation is far more natural. Having your OPT or H-1B timeline clearly in mind before that conversation helps you address it confidently and without friction.
