Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Digital Content Specialist
Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
TN eligibility for content roles depends on your degree field matching the job description. A diploma in marketing or communications works; a general arts degree paired with a vague job title may not. Request a credential evaluation before applying.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Employers with recent visa filings for communications or marketing roles already understand the sponsorship process. Review their filing history to confirm a company has sponsored work visa professionals in similar positions before—this experience translates well to TN sponsorship, which requires an employer support letter rather than government filings.
Negotiate the job offer letter before accepting
Your TN support letter must name your specific title, duties, degree requirement, and employment terms. Ask the employer to draft it before you give notice elsewhere. A vague letter is the most common reason border officers request additional documentation.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsorship-ready employers
Filtering for Digital Content Specialist roles at companies already familiar with TN filings saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified sponsorship history, so you're not cold-pitching HR teams who have never filed a TN petition.
Prepare for port-of-entry classification questions as a Canadian
Canadian citizens apply at the border, where CBP officers make the final classification decision. Bring printed copies of your degree transcripts, the employer support letter, and a sample of your portfolio work to demonstrate the specialized nature of your role.
Confirm your employer's E-Verify enrollment before your start date
Some states require E-Verify for all new hires, and federal contractors must enroll. Ask HR to confirm enrollment status during onboarding, because TN workers must complete Form I-9 and E-Verify verification within three business days of starting work.

Find Digital Content Specialist JobsDigital Content Specialist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Digital Content Specialist role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing, and the job duties align with professional-level content creation or strategy. Roles that require only a general education background or treat the degree as optional are harder to support under the TN classification, so the job description wording matters significantly.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
TN has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start working as soon as CBP approves your application at the port of entry. H-1B requires your employer to enter a random lottery, and selection is not guaranteed. Mexican nationals face a TN annual allocation, but even that process is faster and more predictable than the H-1B lottery cycle.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that states your job title, a description of duties confirming specialty occupation status, the specific degree field required, your anticipated length of employment, and your compensation terms. This letter is reviewed by CBP at the border for Canadians or by a consular officer for Mexican nationals, and incomplete letters are a leading cause of delays.
Where can I find Digital Content Specialist jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, which makes identifying sponsorship-ready employers time-consuming. Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN and other work visa job seekers, letting you search for Digital Content Specialist roles at employers with confirmed sponsorship histories so you can focus your applications where they're most likely to succeed.
Can I switch employers while on TN status as a Digital Content Specialist?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to your current employer. You cannot begin working for a new company until you have an approved TN for that position. Canadian citizens can apply at the port of entry with a new support letter from the incoming employer before starting. Mexican nationals must obtain a new TN visa at a U.S. consulate, so planning the transition timeline is essential to avoid any gap in authorized employment.
