Airgas is Hiring for a Production Operator I in Palmer, AK!

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operator - Production I contributes to the safe and efficient operation of requalification equipment and related products, ensuring quality and alignment with production schedules.
- Guide and support the operation of various production equipment, including compressors, pumps and generators according to established procedures.
- Perform routine quality control checks on finished products and in-process materials, making adjustments as necessary to maintain excellence.
- Load and unload materials and products using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Resolve minor equipment challenges and perform basic maintenance tasks to keep the team moving forward.
- Record production data, equipment readings, and quality control results accurately.
- Prioritize the safety of our team, company policies, and environmental guidelines in every task.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives to pioneer better ways of working.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Build understanding and connect with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Assist with inventory management and raw material handling as needed.
ARE YOU A MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the industrial gas or chemical industry.
- Hydro and UE testing certifications preferred. Knowledge of DOT recertification policies and procedures preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and process monitoring.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
