VCA Family & Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is adding an experienced Veterinary Assistant to our Specialty Surgery Team.

COMPENSATION

$24 - $35 / hour

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- 2 years’ experience in a veterinary hospital setting
- Full-time with flexible availability
- Able to multi-task in a busy environment
- Able to provide excellent client service
- Passionate about patient care
- Team oriented

SKILLS: PROficient AND/OR WILLING TO LEARN

- IV catheter placement and venipuncture
- Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Set up and assist with procedures
- Appointment management: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoice and patient discharge, prepare and dispense prescriptions, and educate clients

Physical Requirements:

- Dependable attendance is required
- Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions
- This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-10 hour day
