Summary
Responsible for project site management. Oversees activities of employees assigned to project site for the construction, maintenance, and repair of bridges. Provides leadership and is responsible for safety, workforce planning, cost control, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Please note work may be away from home requiring overnight stays possibly a week at a time or longer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible and accountable for the safety of assigned crew members.
- Oversees and coordinates the activities of field employees while assessing competency of the capabilities and needs of the crew.
- Plans, organizes, and/or directs activities performed at the site; monitors work and ensures work performed meets project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Reviews and adjusts specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet established production schedules.
- Requests procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Oversees, operates, and monitors maintenance of equipment used at site(s).
- Identifies needs, concerns, and deficiencies in the schedule and communicates with appropriate personnel, vendors, and upper management.
- Works closely with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and the timely completion of the project.
- Monitors progress to ensure the project is on track and take corrective actions to avoid delays. Coordinate with other teams to manage timelines and milestones.
- Implements new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or site emergencies.
- Foster a culture of safety by enforcing safety program and assisting in accident investigations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees the duties and responsibilities of field employees at any given time.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
- 5 years of previous bridge and/or heavy highway construction experience with leadership/management experience; or
- equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid NE Driver’s License
Other Qualifications
- Knowledge of project construction scope and objectives with ability to read and understand plans.
- Must have working knowledge of types of equipment necessary for site project.
- Must have familiarity with NDOR and City of Lincoln specifications.
- Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule; may be required to work a 12-hour shift, and during busy season may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.
- Computer literacy required with knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to use an iPad preferred.
- Must be able to secure equipment, loading and unloading equipment and cleaning the equipment.

- Ability to read, analyze, interpret and accurately obtain necessary information from related source documents/data such as design plans and specifications, and other reference materials.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of contractors, customers, and the general public.
- Bilingual skills helpful.
