Frame your portfolio around financial data
Affirm evaluates Insights Analysts on experience with payments, credit risk, or lending metrics. Build your portfolio around SQL-heavy analyses or dashboards that reflect consumer finance outcomes, not generic business intelligence work.
Target roles that cite BNPL or credit analytics
Affirm's analytics function is closely tied to buy-now-pay-later underwriting and loss forecasting. Applying to postings that list credit performance or loss rate analysis as core responsibilities signals the strongest alignment with sponsored headcount.
Confirm OPT start dates align with interview timelines
If you're on F-1 OPT, your authorization start date must precede your first day. Coordinate your DSO-issued EAD timeline with Affirm's typical multi-round interview process so there's no gap between offer acceptance and legal work authorization.
Understand Affirm's H-1B filing window for analysts
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer after the April filing deadline, negotiate a conditional start date for the following fiscal year rather than declining the offer outright.
Prepare degree equivalency documentation early
Affirm's Insights Analyst roles typically require a quantitative bachelor's degree. If yours is from a non-U.S. institution, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization before your offer stage so USCIS specialty occupation requirements don't delay your I-129 petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Affirm analyst openings by visa type
Affirm posts Insights Analyst roles across multiple teams with different sponsorship scopes. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by the visa types you hold or need, so you're applying to roles where your authorization path is already supported.

Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Insights Analysts?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Insights Analyst roles. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for analytics professionals and supports both cap-subject registrations and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you're cap-subject, the April registration window determines your earliest possible start date.
How do I apply for Insights Analyst jobs at Affirm?
Applications go through Affirm's careers portal. The process typically involves a recruiter screen, a technical assessment focused on SQL and data analysis, and several rounds of interviews covering analytical thinking and business judgment. You can also browse open Insights Analyst positions filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate before applying directly through Affirm's site.
Which visa types does Affirm commonly sponsor for Insights Analyst roles?
Affirm sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Insights Analysts. TN status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying analytical roles. Each pathway has different timing requirements, so confirm which applies to your situation before accepting an offer.
What qualifications does Affirm look for in an Insights Analyst?
Affirm generally expects a bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, computer science, or mathematics. Strong SQL proficiency is required, and experience with Python or R is common. Familiarity with consumer credit, payments data, or financial services analytics is a significant advantage given Affirm's core business in buy-now-pay-later lending.
How do I plan my visa timeline when targeting an Insights Analyst role at Affirm?
Timeline depends on your current status. F-1 OPT authorization must be active before your start date, so apply early enough to account for USCIS processing. For H-1B cap-subject candidates, the April lottery and October 1 start date are fixed, and Affirm typically needs several months to prepare the petition. TN status can be obtained at the border or port of entry, which makes the timeline significantly shorter.
