Tailor your portfolio to credit risk
Affirm evaluates candidates on hands-on experience with loss forecasting, credit scoring, or fraud detection models. Before applying, assemble work samples that show end-to-end model development in a lending or payments context, not just general data analysis.
Ask about LCA filing scope during the offer stage
Affirm operates hybrid and remote arrangements for some risk roles. When you receive an offer, confirm which worksite the Labor Condition Application will cover. DOL requires a certified LCA for each location where you'll work regularly, so remote setups can add complexity.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Risk Data Analyst roles
Search Migrate Mate's job board to filter Affirm's Risk Data Analyst openings by visa type. This helps you confirm which roles are actively sponsoring before you invest time in the application, so you're not discovering sponsorship availability late in the process.
Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role is a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree field. For risk analyst positions at fintech lenders, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, or computer science degrees are the strongest fit for that standard.
Prepare for PERM if targeting permanent residence
Affirm has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 green cards for technical roles. If permanent residence matters to you, raise it during negotiations rather than after onboarding. PERM recruitment requirements and DOL prevailing wage determinations take months to initiate and cannot be rushed retroactively.

Find Risk Data Analyst at Affirm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Risk Data Analysts?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Risk Data Analyst roles. The company files both initial H-1B cap-subject petitions and H-1B transfers for candidates already holding the status. Because Risk Data Analyst positions at Affirm require quantitative expertise in credit or fraud modeling, they generally satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which is the core H-1B eligibility threshold.
Which visa types are commonly used for Risk Data Analyst roles at Affirm?
Affirm supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Risk Data Analyst positions. F-1 candidates in STEM fields can also pursue a 24-month STEM OPT extension, which extends work authorization and reduces short-term H-1B lottery dependency. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying analytical occupations.
What qualifications does Affirm expect for Risk Data Analyst roles?
Affirm's Risk Data Analyst roles typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, economics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field, along with proficiency in SQL and Python. Experience with credit risk modeling, loss forecasting, or fraud detection in a consumer lending or payments environment is weighted heavily. Fintech or banking industry exposure strengthens your application significantly over general data analyst backgrounds.
How do I apply for Risk Data Analyst jobs at Affirm?
You can browse and apply for Risk Data Analyst openings at Affirm directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Affirm's hiring process for analytical roles typically includes a technical screen, a take-home case study focused on risk or credit problems, and structured interviews with the risk and data science teams.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Risk Data Analyst at Affirm?
For H-1B cap-subject petitions, the timeline depends on the annual lottery in March and a standard October 1 start date, meaning the process can span six months or more from registration. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status are faster, often completing within two to three months with premium processing. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs significantly longer, typically one to three years from initiation to approval.
