You will integrate large datasets - such as biomechanics research or advanced manufacturing constraints - into functional, elegant design solutions. We value the ability to explore, iterate, and communicate clearly with cross functional teams. We encourage candidates of all experience levels to apply.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Demonstrated understanding of computational and parametric design principles.
-
Proficiency in Grasshopper and Rhino; experience with Python, C#, or other scripting languages is a plus.
-
Excellent problem-solving skills with the perseverance to tackle open-ended, ambiguous challenges.
-
Exceptional communication skills with proficiency in English, enabling clear articulation of complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Proven ability to incorporate diverse data sets (e.g., human factors research, biomechanical metrics, and engineering constraints) into computational models.
-
Skilled at creating adaptable design systems and flexible frameworks that can evolve alongside project insights.
-
Capacity to explore materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques through algorithmic methods.
-
Strong data and file management capabilities, ensuring high-quality digital deliverables that can translate into refined surfaces and production-ready geometry.
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Design, Computational Design, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Prior experience working in industry is highly preferred.

Tailor your resume to Apple's hardware focus
Apple's Industrial Engineer roles center on manufacturing process design, yield improvement, and supply chain efficiency for physical products. Frame your experience around production systems, NPI cycles, or factory operations rather than software or services contexts.
Target roles tied to Apple's NPI pipeline
New Product Introduction engineering is a core hiring driver at Apple. Applying to roles explicitly tied to product launch cycles or supplier quality gives you better odds than general process improvement postings, which attract heavier competition.
Get your credential evaluation done early
If your degree is from outside the U.S., secure a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before you reach the offer stage. Apple's immigration team will need this for H-1B specialty occupation documentation, and delays here slow the entire filing timeline.
Understand how Apple structures H-1B filing timing
H-1B cap filings open each April for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, Apple typically bridges your status using OPT or pursues a cap-exempt filing if applicable. Clarify your expected start date and status options during the offer stage.
Track Apple's Industrial Engineer openings through Migrate Mate
Apple posts Industrial Engineer roles across multiple teams with varying sponsorship scopes. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Apple postings that confirm visa sponsorship, so you're applying to the roles most aligned with your work authorization situation.
Ask your recruiter about PERM timeline expectations upfront
Apple sponsors Green Cards for Industrial Engineers, but PERM labor certification through DOL can take one to two years before an I-140 petition is filed. Knowing where this fits in your offer negotiation helps you plan your long-term U.S. immigration strategy accurately.

Find Industrial Engineer at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Industrial Engineers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Industrial Engineers. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria because it typically requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field. Apple has an established immigration program and works with outside counsel to handle H-1B filings for qualifying hires.
How do I apply for Industrial Engineer jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site, or use Migrate Mate to browse Apple's Industrial Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Apple's hiring process for this role typically includes a recruiter screen, technical interviews focused on process design and manufacturing systems, and a final loop covering cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Industrial Engineers?
Apple sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most nonimmigrant work authorization cases. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the USMCA. Students on F-1 OPT or CPT can also work at Apple during their authorization period. For permanent residence, Apple sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways.
What qualifications does Apple look for in Industrial Engineer candidates?
Apple's Industrial Engineer postings generally require a bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering. Practical experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, NPI cycles, or supply chain systems is heavily weighted. Roles tied to Apple's hardware lines often expect familiarity with high-volume production environments and comfort working across supplier and internal factory teams.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap filing cycle?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March, with selected petitions filed for an October 1 start date. If you're finishing OPT and receive an Apple offer before the next cap cycle, Apple can typically bridge your status through an OPT extension or STEM OPT if you qualify. Aligning your interview process to peak Apple hiring periods in Q1 and Q3 improves your chances of offer timing lining up with cap season.
