Build a portfolio around Apple's design language
Apple evaluates UX portfolios against its own Human Interface Guidelines. Showing work that demonstrates familiarity with spatial design, accessibility, and hardware-software integration signals you can contribute from day one, which directly strengthens your sponsorship case internally.
Target roles aligned with your visa category
Apple sponsors multiple visa types, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Research which design teams have historically posted roles matching your category, since cap-subject H-1B candidates need employer registration by mid-March while E-3 applicants can start any time.
Understand Apple's Labor Condition Application requirements
Before Apple can file your H-1B or E-3 petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming prevailing wage compliance. Ask your recruiter early in the offer stage when LCA filing typically begins, so you can plan your start date accurately.
Use Migrate Mate to find open UX roles at Apple
Apple posts UX Product Design positions across multiple teams simultaneously, and roles open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Apple UX roles with confirmed sponsorship, so you're applying to live positions rather than chasing stale listings.
Prepare for Apple's multi-round design review process
Apple's UX interviews typically include a portfolio presentation to a cross-functional panel, a design exercise, and a leadership review. Practicing how to articulate design decisions under questioning matters as much as the portfolio itself when competing for sponsored positions.

Find UX Product Design at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for UX Product Design roles?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for UX Product Design positions. Because H-1B is a cap-subject visa, your employer must submit a registration during the USCIS lottery window in March. If selected, Apple's immigration team typically handles the full petition filing. Candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer may be eligible for a cap-exempt transfer.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for UX Product Design positions?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for UX Product Design roles, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery, while Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. The right category depends on your citizenship, degree, and role classification.
What qualifications does Apple expect for sponsored UX Product Design roles?
Apple typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 petitions. Beyond credentials, Apple places significant weight on a portfolio that demonstrates systems thinking, hardware-aware design, and experience shipping products at scale.
How do I apply for UX Product Design jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers site, but roles fill quickly and many are not widely advertised. Migrate Mate curates open UX Product Design positions at Apple filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which makes it easier to find current openings matched to your status. Once you apply, expect an initial recruiter screen followed by a portfolio review and multiple design interview rounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from Apple?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and TN sponsorship can move quickly, often within four to six weeks of an offer. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing take three to six months after the lottery, while premium processing through USCIS reduces adjudication to around fifteen business days. F-1 OPT candidates can typically start sooner since work authorization is already in place.
