Align your credentials to fuel cell systems
Bloom Energy's Energy roles center on solid oxide fuel cell technology and stationary power generation. Tailor your resume to highlight electrochemical systems, power electronics, or grid integration experience so hiring managers can immediately map your background to their core product.
Target roles with PERM-eligible scope
Energy positions requiring specialized knowledge in fuel cell stack design or thermal management systems tend to support EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways. Identify job postings that list these technical requirements, since clearly defined specialty roles have stronger PERM labor certification outcomes.
Browse open Energy roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Bloom Energy's current Energy openings by visa sponsorship type. This saves time vetting roles that may not sponsor and lets you focus your applications on positions already flagged as sponsorship-eligible.
Time your H-1B cap registration carefully
If you're transitioning off F-1 OPT, USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in March for an October 1 start date. Confirm your OPT expiration date against that timeline early, and ask Bloom Energy's HR whether they file premium processing to reduce the approval window to 15 business days.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
Many Energy engineering roles at Bloom Energy require a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation completed before you receive an offer so there's no delay when the employer's immigration counsel requests it.
Clarify TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Energy engineers from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status under the USMCA, which has no lottery and can be processed at a port of entry. Confirm with Bloom Energy's HR team whether your specific job title and duties align with DOL's engineer classification before the offer stage.

Find Energy at Bloom Energy JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bloom Energy sponsor H-1B visas for Energys?
Yes, Bloom Energy sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Energy roles. Positions in fuel cell engineering, power systems design, and energy integration typically meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires. Your employer files the H-1B petition on your behalf, so confirm sponsorship willingness with the recruiter before or during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Energy jobs at Bloom Energy?
Applications go through Bloom Energy's careers portal, where Energy roles are listed by function and location. To streamline your search and filter specifically for visa-sponsoring positions, use Migrate Mate to browse current Bloom Energy Energy openings. Tailor your application materials to highlight relevant power systems or electrochemical engineering experience before submitting.
Which visa types does Bloom Energy commonly use for Energy roles?
Bloom Energy sponsors H-1B for most specialty occupation Energy hires, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students in engineering programs. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineer classifications. For longer-term employees, the company supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Bloom Energy expect for Energy roles?
Most Energy positions require a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, chemical, or materials engineering. Hands-on experience with power electronics, fuel cell systems, thermal management, or grid integration is frequently listed as a requirement. Roles closer to field deployment may also expect familiarity with energy codes, site commissioning, or power system modeling tools.
How do I know if the timeline for sponsorship works with my current visa status?
The key dates to map are your current status expiration, the H-1B cap registration window in March, and the October 1 cap-subject start date. If you're on OPT with STEM extension, you may have enough runway to bridge the gap. For cap-exempt pathways or TN transfers, timing is more flexible. Confirm your specific situation with the hiring team's immigration counsel as early as possible in the process.
