Frame your degree around supply chain specifics
Costco's logistics roles typically require a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations. If your credential is from a foreign institution, get a formal equivalency evaluation before applying so hiring managers can quickly confirm it meets the role's requirements.
Target distribution center postings over corporate roles
Costco fills a high volume of logistics positions at its regional distribution centers, not just headquarters. Roles in transportation coordination, inbound freight, and warehouse operations appear frequently and tend to move through the hiring process faster than corporate supply chain planning jobs.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization timeline upfront
If you're on F-1 OPT, tell the recruiter your exact authorization end date and STEM extension eligibility early. Costco's HR teams handle volume hiring and need clear timelines to coordinate an H-1B transfer or cap-gap coverage without last-minute surprises.
Ask specifically about TN eligibility in interviews
Canadian and Mexican nationals in supply chain or industrial engineering roles may qualify for TN status, which requires no USCIS petition and can be processed at the port of entry. Raise this with the recruiter directly, since not all hiring managers will surface it without prompting.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Costco logistics openings by visa type
Costco posts logistics roles across multiple locations simultaneously, making it hard to track which positions align with your specific visa situation. Migrate Mate lets you filter Costco's open logistics jobs by the visa types the company sponsors so you apply where you actually have a path.
Build lead time into your PERM and Green Card timeline
Green Card sponsorship through PERM requires DOL wage determinations and a multi-step process that can take well over a year before USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition. If a Costco recruiter raises permanent sponsorship, get clarity on whether the offer letter reflects that commitment in writing.

Does Costco Wholesale sponsor H-1B visas for Logistics roles?
Yes, Costco Wholesale sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying logistics positions. Roles in supply chain management, operations, and distribution that require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher are typically structured to meet USCIS specialty occupation standards. Your best approach is to confirm the specific role's sponsorship eligibility with the recruiter during the interview process, as not every logistics posting will qualify.
Which visa types does Costco Wholesale commonly use for Logistics positions?
Costco supports several visa categories for logistics hires, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or management roles, J-1 for certain training programs, and Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM-based pathways for longer-term placements.
What qualifications does Costco Wholesale expect for Logistics roles?
Most logistics positions at Costco require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or a closely related field. Practical experience with warehouse management systems, transportation coordination, or inventory control strengthens your application significantly. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree needs to align specifically with the job duties, not just the logistics function broadly, to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria.
How do I apply for Logistics jobs at Costco Wholesale?
Costco posts logistics roles on its careers site, and new distribution center openings appear regularly. To find positions that align with your visa situation, browse Costco's logistics jobs on Migrate Mate, which filters openings by the visa types Costco sponsors. When applying, tailor your resume to emphasize operations experience that matches the specific role, and be ready to discuss your work authorization status clearly in the initial recruiter screen.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if I receive a logistics offer from Costco?
If you're being transferred from OPT or another H-1B, timing depends on cap-subject versus cap-exempt status and whether premium processing is used. A standard H-1B petition can take three to six months without premium processing. USCIS premium processing guarantees a 15 business day adjudication decision. If you're subject to the annual H-1B lottery, your start date will be tied to the October 1 fiscal year cycle, so planning your offer acceptance timeline around that window matters.
