Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Public Relations Jobs at FleishmanHillard Jobs
Frame Your Portfolio Around Client Industries
FleishmanHillard organizes its PR work by industry practice groups, including healthcare, technology, and financial services. Tailor your portfolio to show measurable results in one of these verticals so hiring managers see immediate fit before sponsorship even comes up.
Clarify Your OPT Authorization Timeline Upfront
F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months of work authorization, with a 60-day grace period if employment ends early. Tell recruiters your exact start date and expiration so FleishmanHillard's HR team can plan any subsequent E-3 filing without last-minute urgency.
Target Offices in States With Strong PR Client Bases
FleishmanHillard's New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C. offices carry the heaviest client loads for corporate and public affairs PR. Focusing your applications on these locations improves your odds of landing a role substantial enough to justify a visa filing.
Confirm the Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
USCIS requires that E-3 and H-1B positions meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the job normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For PR roles, a degree in communications, journalism, or public relations typically satisfies this, but verify the job description requires it, not just prefers it.
Request an Offer Letter Before the LCA Filing Deadline
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting any visa petition. Ask FleishmanHillard's HR team for a formal offer letter and expected filing timeline at the same time, so both sides are aligned before that process begins.
Search Verified Sponsoring PR Employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter for PR roles at firms with confirmed sponsorship histories. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to agencies that quietly screen out visa candidates before the interview stage.

Find Public Relations at FleishmanHillard JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does FleishmanHillard sponsor H-1B visas for Public Relations roles?
FleishmanHillard's documented sponsorship activity for Public Relations roles has focused on E-3 and F-1 OPT rather than H-1B. H-1B sponsorship is possible in principle but involves the annual lottery, which runs each April for an October start. If you're relying on H-1B, build your timeline around the registration window and discuss it with the firm's HR team well in advance.
Which visa types are commonly used for Public Relations roles at FleishmanHillard?
The firm's sponsorship history for PR roles centers on E-3 visas for Australian citizens and F-1 OPT extensions for recent graduates. The E-3 is renewable in two-year increments with no lottery, making it particularly practical for ongoing client-facing PR work. If you hold a different visa type, discuss your situation directly with FleishmanHillard's recruiting team to assess feasibility.
What qualifications does FleishmanHillard expect for sponsored Public Relations positions?
Sponsored PR roles at FleishmanHillard typically require a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation standard that USCIS applies to visa petitions. Practical experience in media relations, account management, or a defined industry vertical carries significant weight. Candidates with agency backgrounds or client-facing experience in healthcare, technology, or financial services tend to be most competitive.
How do I apply for Public Relations jobs at FleishmanHillard?
Applications go through FleishmanHillard's careers portal, where roles are listed by office and practice group. You can also find and track open PR positions at FleishmanHillard with confirmed sponsorship histories on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers. When you apply, address your visa status directly in a cover note so recruiters don't screen you out before reviewing your experience.
How do I time my job search at FleishmanHillard to match the visa filing process?
For F-1 OPT, you can begin working as soon as your EAD is issued, so start applying three to four months before your program end date to give yourself lead time. For an E-3, the employer needs to secure a certified LCA from the DOL before filing, which typically adds two to four weeks to the process. Starting conversations with FleishmanHillard recruiters at least three months before your authorization runs out gives both sides enough runway to complete the filing without gaps in employment.
