- Deep care for user experience and a passion for building polished, intuitive products.
- Inspired by our MOVE principles: move fast and learn faster; obsess over creating customer value; value impact over activity; and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Grammarly Visa Sponsorship USA
Target engineering and AI research roles
Grammarly's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines. If your background is in software engineering, machine learning, or natural language processing, you're applying for the kinds of roles where Grammarly has the strongest history of sponsoring international candidates.
Confirm your visa type is supported before applying
Grammarly sponsors several visa categories including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT. Verify that your specific situation aligns with what they actively file for, particularly if you're on CPT or J-1, where employer participation varies more than it does for H-1B.
Apply well ahead of the H-1B registration window
H-1B registration opens in March each year. Grammarly needs time to assess your role and initiate the process with their immigration counsel. Securing an offer by late winter gives both sides enough runway to complete registration without pressure.
Emphasize specialized technical skills in your application
Grammarly builds sophisticated AI and NLP systems. Candidates who demonstrate deep expertise in these areas are stronger sponsorship candidates. Frame your resume around specific technical contributions rather than broad experience in software development generally.
Use a platform that filters by verified sponsorship history
Not every job posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on companies like Grammarly that have a confirmed track record.
Treat the Green Card conversation as part of your negotiation
Grammarly has sponsored both H-1B and employment-based Green Cards. For candidates seeking long-term stability, it's worth understanding whether a prospective team has initiated PERM processes for employees before, this signals commitment beyond the initial visa stage.

Yes, Grammarly sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for technical roles in software engineering, AI, and product development. If you're targeting an H-1B, focus your applications on roles in those departments where Grammarly has demonstrated active sponsorship.
Which visa types does Grammarly sponsor?
Grammarly sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. Coverage across this many categories suggests a mature immigration program with established legal counsel, a positive sign for international applicants at any career stage.
Which departments or roles at Grammarly are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Grammarly is most concentrated in technical functions, particularly software engineering, machine learning, and natural language processing. Product and research roles have also historically received support. Business, marketing, and operations roles are less common sponsorship targets at most technology companies, and Grammarly follows that general pattern.
What is the typical application and sponsorship timeline at Grammarly?
From initial application to offer, expect a multi-stage interview process spanning several weeks. If you're pursuing an H-1B, timing matters significantly, registration closes in mid-March and the fiscal year starts October 1. Grammarly would need to initiate the process with their immigration team well before the registration deadline, so securing an offer by late January or February is advisable.
