The Quality Engineer position located in New Haven, Missouri will be responsible for providing customer support of design, improvement or quality issues through communicating with suppliers on products and process concerns, providing technical support to manufacturing departments at the plant facilities, responsible for working within teams to improve process efficiencies, reduce scrap, improve quality and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure conformance of the product by auditing the process and product.
- Keep up to date control plans, flows, PFMEAs and work instructions.
- Responsible to conduct 8Ds and problem solving techniques with team members.
- Follow up on quality data and processing concerns.
- Actively participate in the PFMEA process and updates.
- Ensure compliance with quality system according to ISO – IATF16949.
- Assist with training for supervisors, and team members on aspects of the quality system and use of quality tools for daily use and troubleshooting.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Professional knowledge/skills normally acquired through the completion of Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering.
Preferred: Chemical or Industrial Engineering and/or CQE certified.
Experience:
Minimum: Knowledge and skills typically acquired through 3-plus years’ experience managing ISO IATF 16949 System, Methodology 8D´s, SPC, Core Tool, FMEA, and APQP, knowledge of OEM customer portals and Customer Specific Requirements.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Automotive quality experience preferred.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Ability to handle stress.
- Ability to work well with people at all levels.
- Deals effectively with resistance; takes positive steps to avoid the recurrence of errors through constructive critique.
- Occasional travel to customer work locations and manufacturing facilities.
Drug screen required.
